Well for accessories, my friend will not bring the box, so that's gone. Charger has different point, so need for that also, And no need for USB cable, have enough.

@abracadabra - did dome research, asked members here. Conclusion was that Nokia 822 is a global GSM ready phone. And it does have a SIM slot.

Hey Guys, finally !! It has arrived :D

1st thing 1 did was checked GSM, and yes....its working :) :)

Thank you all for the support & guidance.

My roomate is going again this month, i want one for me too ( this one's for dad). So please sugget, should i buy the same one, or can i consider some other model ?

Nokia Lumia 822 is working pretty decent. Worked on GSM without any problem. Thanks to you guys.

Now that phase 1 was succesfull, i am planning to buy another phone from US. Apart from Nexus 4 & Lumia 822, do i have any other option wherein i get 50% cost benefit ??

Nexus 4 is not that cost effective,you will get mint used nexus 4 around 22-23 k after very hard time on eBay.com as it's very popular device right now....
Go with 822 again as it's best device you can get for 10k,lookout for device with accessories as it's to find 822 cover And screenguard here in India...
Avoid at&t and T-Mobile device where we have to pay for unlock code if they are locked to carrier...

Lumia 920 :D Or wait a while and get the 928.

You haven't mentioned your budget, but you can also go for the Verizon iPhone 5.
