Missed call from a strange no starting with +37*********

^^ must be those pesky callers from insurance policy companies:
102: uthana goparaju
101: uthana call policy

have you put your number in DND registry?
 
Even I get calls from weird numbers.
They get disconnected after one ring thankfully.

The calls with 140 in the number (+91 140 xxxx) are telemarketing calls, I get about a call a day which I don't answer.
 
Same here. Used to receive calls, and sms, from several numbers, winning UK lottery, Nokia lottery etc crap. Replied with the M word to all of them, since then it has stopped, but I'm sure it'll come again.
And DND won't work, because these are personal numbers.

Nowadays it seems very easy to get fake numbers registered on behalf of some random peoples to do such notorious works.
Last month i was in Odisha. I saw guys on street kiosk selling sim cards without demanding any kind of proof be it photos or xerox of IDs. That was pre-activated sim cards. I got 2 for myself as the bundled 3g data with them was so tempting.
