Amazon selling AT&T Nokia Lumia 520 for only $49.99

Hows the battery life? With music and vids? Read mixed reviews.

i haven't had much time to use it - it's pretty much sitting in the box, but i've heard it gets about a day's use with mixed usage. It IS a rather small battery.

the 525 has 1gb ram. And some free games.
edit: crap, my bad. the 521 is for t-mobile so has some extra frequency bands vs the 520. it's also 4.1mm taller. no other diff

I think i'll place an order for it and let a friend bring it for me in June. :D
 
Make sure getting the rebate is actually possible, or it'll end up costing the whole $49
 
Alright, i'm unlocked !

After waiting unsuccessfully for the local mobile dudes to find a way to unlock the phone, i happened upon this post: http://slickdeals.net/forums/showpost.php?p=65644552&postcount=88

Asked a friend in the US to submit a request on this page: https://www.att.com/deviceunlock/client/en_US/termsAndCondition

First he selected gophone since that's what this lumia 520 is, and they replied saying that the imei isn't linked to any att account.
2nd time he entered all his details, inluding his ssn and att number, just my lumia's imei. And they mailed him the 20-digit unlock code in 2 days!
Ended up saving the money i would have to pay the mobile repair guys too.
 
The friend who submitted the request has been an att subscriber for a few years now. They gave the unlock code based on his account standing. Check the link i posted. It's their current unlock page.
 
Right, but even the $5 ebay unlocks were unavailable ever since ATT updated their policy to minimum 6 months of use before unlocking. So this is one way (probably the only way) someone can unlock their lumia today. Better than a paperweight eh?

Ridiculous unlock pricing. I guess what these guys are doing is the same thing my friend did for me, get an att customer to get the unlock code via his account. They probably split the profit, so about 1k each.

I think after the $39.99 the lowest it went was $49.99. But generally the price is fluctuating between $59.99 and $69.99

What method you used is legitimate and not everyone can avail that. The ebay link and such others probably have "contacts" inside AT&T who would do this for them and they split profit. They cannot keep getting random account holder and tell them to submit unlock request.
How else was the iPhone unlock so easy. No account holders or anything, just inner contact would get them done quickly for a price.
