on Tuesday launched broadband wireless access (BWA) services based on 4G technology in kolkata.​

With this launch, the firm became the first player to launch the 4G service in India. ​

The high speed service was inaugurated here by Union communications minister ​

and isn't minimum broadband speed defined as the "uber fast" 256Kbps in our country?

Soon we will have FUP on the fckin phones as well. 1st 100 calls in a month @ less rates, remaining calls at lower voice quality and higher costs

Actually, i am confused. LTE was 3.5G or 4G?
 
Rates are at par with Photon+

Speeds are better

Probably they are targeting those with

a)No other option

b)Enough money that 1-2k/month is not something you give much thought to

c)Company paid connections
 
8k for the modem? W00t seriously?

The plans are pretty good actually. For 999 we get 10GB with photon, 6GB here with FUP.

I was hoping for atleast like 256Kbps speeds after FUP man.
 
Dont know why all the carriers love 128Kbps after FUP. FAILTEL GROW UP. We want some better plan and post FUP speed atleast 512-1Mbps.
 
Quite pointless. With FUP and throughput being restriced, it is quite a facade and incorrect positioning of a product. They are fooling customers.

people who thought 4g lte Would be cheaper are completely Wrong. Why? Simple. Airtel got 4 licenses for 3,275 cr and kolkata price was 523 cr. They did not think of offering 4g cheaper for kolkata because the average cost per state for craptel would be same as 3g spectrum average cost. So no suprise for me! I already knew that the tariff is going to be same as pan india's Looking at the prev scenario of 3g where they got cheaply in some circles and some were costly.
