XFX, one of the largest Nvidia AIB confirmed that they wont be making GTX 480 and GTX 470 this time around.
There was no press release from them and that did cause few raised eyebrows, but today almost all big names in media received confirmation from XFX that they are indeed not going to be making any GTX 470 and 480 cards and will be focusing on the ATI high end hardware for now.
They will continue supporting and selling older Nvidia cards and will be open to selling low end and mainstream versions of Fermi.
This is definitely big blow to Nvidia as XFX was very big AIB partner for Nvidia globally unlike some others like BFG and Evga which do not have penetration in European and asian markets.
