Windows Windows 10 free upgrade

download keyfinder and run it.It will show your Windows 10 product key. That key is different from your Windows 8.1 key.
Note it down. This is your ORIGINAL Windows 10 product key.
Microsoft has already associated your Computer to your Product key.
Next time when you reinstall Windows and it asks for key, give this key and install.
Windows will get automatically activated as soon as you connect to the internet.
I tried keyfinder to see if its showing the right key for my Windows 8.1 Pro. Turned out different than the one I used to activate the same. So I wonder the product key generated on Windows 10 Pro using keyfinder will be of any help?

I like that wallpaper.Where can I download it?

Nope, I downloaded the .iso file mounted it on Daemon tool and then ran the update.exe to upgrade.
I could only find the Setup.exe in the iso(64 bit) and not Update.exe.I have tried umpteen no. of times using both wuauclt and Mediacreator(Upgrade this PC option) but got screwed everytime on both my HTPC and Gaming PC(both running genuine Windows 8.1 x64 Pro and Win 10 reserved on both).

On my gaming PC with 250 GB Samsung 850 EVO SSD as C Drive and i5-4430 CPU I got stuck at preparing for installation for around 4 hours after downloading 2.7 GB and then it failed with the same shitty error code -80240020.
I then booted to safe mode ,cleaned up the C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download path, did a thorough disk cleanup of C drive including system files and cleaned up the $Windows folders and tried again and lo and behold it again failed with the same code.

Like you said I then tried with the iso by mounting it on Alcohol 120% but couldn't skip the Product key page(old Win 8.1 keys don't work) and finally gave up.
Wasted my entire weekend with this shite.
Why couldn't Microsoft ask for a email id when we reserved Windows 10 and then sent the Product Key to us via email so that we didn't have to burn through 40 GB of data and jump through hoops like this?

have upgraded from win7 pro to win10 pro through win10 image downloaded from torrent. all seems good, except am having trouble with getting display through hdmi port. am actually using a sony bravia hdtv as my display. hav connected it through vga port which helps while installing os & then usually switch to hdmi port.
am able to get display through the vga port if it alone is connected. if I do connect to hdmi, the vga switches to extended display I guess & the hdmi port connected to tv displays "Unsupported Signal. Check your device output".
need to somehow get to the option where I can select my vga display as the main display, so that I can then fiddle with the hdmi display.
am using an nvidia graphic card (gtx 760) which I purchased not very long ago, so I do not have any clue if I could probably even do it from nvidia control panel, as I have been using amd gpu since pretty long.

please help me out here guys :D

Is there any way to just sign into the store app and buy some things and not have my PC login account (which I want to be local only) become a MS account?

Try downloading and installing the latest NVIDIA drivers - 353.62 which is certified for windows 10.

Is it just for me or the app store is not working for all?
All app updates and new downloads are queued and pending.
Heard it was due to excess load on MS servers, but just wanted to check if anyone else is facing the same issue.

‘Incredibly intrusive’: Windows 10 spies on you by default
Irksome:mad:

Alec Meer of the ‘Rock, Paper, Shotgun’ blog pointed out this passage in Microsoft’s 12,000-word, 45-page terms of use agreement:
We will access, disclose and preserve personal data, including your content (such as the content of your emails, other private communications or files in private folders), when we have a good faith belief that doing so is necessary to.”
While most people are used to ads as the price of accessing free content, writes Meer, Microsoft is not making it clear enough that they are “gathering and storing vast amounts of data on your computing habits,” not just browser data.
Opting out of all these default settings requires navigating 13 different screens and a separate website, the bloggers have found.

Windows 10 is spying on almost everything you do – here’s how to opt out

Windows 10: Porn screensaver surprises man and his wife
This one's funny
The reason behind the embarassment? He kept his, ahem, adult photo collection in the all-encompassing “My Pictures” folder.

I suppose the Windows 10 feature which harvests a user’s Pictures folder to create an entertaining screensaver isn’t always that entertaining.

The full Reddit post reads:
Loaded up WIN 10 last night and left it on to do its thing. Woke up to wife asking why I set it to rotate all my porn images right on the desk top view. I have no idea how to shut that feature off and that computer is staying shut down until I do.
Free windows and a free trip to the doghouse. Thanks Microsoft!!!
Edit: Don’t make my mistake, keep your private pictures out of My Pictures, no matter how deep you hide them in sub folders. My wife is very happy I admitted my mistake on this sub. She said I took my medicine and she now finds it quite funny. ‘Ain’t love grand?’

For the record you don't need to reserve windows 10 for getting free upgrade .
I have tested it self on a new laptop with DOS as OS .
Installed Windows 8.1 from Jun 2014 iso & activated
Installed 2 Windows updates required for notification to come . But notification didn't come after reboots .
So just upgraded activated Windows 8.1 to windows 10 and activated through internet . It is activated properly .
The Jun 2014 Win 8.1 iso had no updates after Jun 2014 nor did i install any updates except the 2 as mentioned above .

So Install any Windows 7/8/8.1 from iso and activate it . Then just upgrade to Windows 10 without the need of any windows updates of Win 8.1 or any requirement of reserving the Windows 10 .

Or you could just upgrade from an windows 10 iso :expressionless:

Anything that can be considered a deal breaker upgrading to windows 10
the crapware and shit on windows explorer that comes with it. you can uninstall the crapware from powershell but explorer folders can't be disabled permanently right now atleast with the latest build even with the registry tweaks, hopefully something will come out soon. I was one of those who used w8 for couple of weeks and never went back to it. windows 7 was my home but now i love windows 10. You just need to know what u want in windows 10. customize it alot by your preferences and this is really golden what microsoft has done with it.

Old keys don't work until they are upgraded as a Windows 10 key in MS servers. For that first you have to do a upgrade and activate Windows 10. After that you can do a clean install any number of times without a key, your hardware id will act as key for Activation.

Regarding the setup asking key, while upgradation from Genuine Windows 8.1, it happened with me as well. I used official MSDN iso file downloaded from MS server using following link and my problem was fixed. If your Windows instalation is English internationl, replace en-us with en-gb in following link
