Hi

looking to buy a new phone and could really use your help

Requirements are as below :

1)Big screen

2)Bluetooth/3G/GPS etc

3)Make doesnt matter

4)Budget: around 15k

5)Good battery life

6)Decent memory - would use it to listen to music(mp3)

Preferences :

1)Touch screen

2)USB charger

Also i tend to use my phones for a very long time 3-4 years so i'd prefer one tht has a decent track record.

think my post got neglected so here it is again

Bump. Looking for more suggestions.
@teche don't feel bad that I am asking again. This is mainly because "good network sensitivity" is very important for me and this is something you cannot see on paper specification. It has to be experienced.

Here I am again with a new requirement.

Essential features:
Good battery life (specially standby and FM mode more than talk time)
Good network sensitivity.
Basic call and text features.
Alarm clock.
Budget phone - preferably under 2k
Edited: Display should be at least 128x128 pixel

Desirable features in descending order of importance:
FM radio
slim and light
music player with expandable memory (will increase budget if this can be brought in at small premium)

Thanks in advance

Hi Emil, I tried posting yesterday but the damn BSNL broadband is not letting me!

I'm more into high end phones, so no hands on experience!

Nokia's generally have good/best network senstivity.
Or you could try the Motoyuva series from Motorola.

Samsung & LG have a lot of offerings, but I find Nokia best.

Nokia 1680 ~2.5k seems good too.

Edit: deleted due to double post.

Emil, Nokia phones are built to last & are good communication devices.
Sound clarity, signal strength is highest in Nokia's.

Also, try Nokia 1661. 1662 is due shortly.

^ and ^^ Thanks. Yes I am considering 1661 and 1662. The specs seem identical. The 1680 AFAIK is just the 1650 with a VGA camera and I really don't want to pay a premium for the unwanted camera. In fact the 1661 is also a slightly thinner version of the 1650 it appears.

Anyone has any idea how are the LG KB and GB series of phones in the 1300 to 1800 price range? The spec look good but again who knows about network sensitivity?

For me Sudoku would be a definite plus and I think all these low cost Nokia's and LGs have it.

Sadly, everyone else seems to be ignoring my request for this low end.

If your keen on a touchscreen display consider the Samsung F480 (15.3K*) else check out the SE W705 (15.8K*) and

if you need GPS, the SE W760i (15K*) .

You can't really expect great battery life from touchscreen PDAs and very few models actually support USB charging.

Hope this helps.

The Nokia 5220 XM (7K*) should do the job !

thanks a lot

just another thought, how much does the omnia cost?

ill probably go with the F480 tho the no GPS is hurting a bit.

The Samsung F480 is the only sensible option if you need Touchscreen at that budget. However it's battery life is just about enough for all the basic functions and not intended to last heavy duty usages.

I suggest you prioritize your requirements to eliminate other options.

Samsung i900 Omnia ~ 25.9K*

I simply cannot vouch for online deals, so please do avoid posting such links in this thread.

But if I were you, I wouldn't want to buy a phone off ebay, leave alone a USED one.

Buying one in person is a different thing altogether.

Anyways, the HTC Touch 3G is a pretty good option ...

I need Full qwerty
Good battery life
decent cam
good audio playback
Wifi
GPS

budget endless for now

PS:No win mo

Your options are the Nokia E71(Rs.19k) and E75(Rs.23k).
If you can do without GPS then the Nokia E63(Rs.12.5k) also meets all the other requirements.
