Re: New Rig

^Isn't the Gigabyte GA-p55m-ud2 an Intel motherboard?

For an amd motherboard with USB3 and Sata 3, the Gigabyte 880-GMA-Ud2h is a good choice.

Re: New Rig

Yup. Go with Gigabyte 880GMA-UD2H or Gigabyte GA-880GM-USB3.

Or, if you can extend your budget a little bit then go with Gigabyte 890GPA-UD3H ~ 9k.

Post updated.

Re: New Rig

if u r low on budget, just check our , other than abv mentioned gigabyte mobos, the msi gaming series motherboard , 890 chipset, it a mATX mobo, with 2 usb 3 n 1 esata6gbps ... around 5k, as for the Case, go in for NZXZT vulcan(small tower)- 4.5k or CM(mid tower) elite around 2.2 k ....

BenQ monitor e2220 or g2220 .... both 21.5" full hd displays , here in mumbai, they cost 8k . hope it helps u

Re: New Rig

As u already have a decent rig hold it for two months till the Sandy Bridge arrives and then go for an upgrade.

Re: New Rig

If you do plan to upgrade now and will use your existing graphics card or buy a new one, you can get a good ATX motherboard.

ASUS M4A87TD/USB3 - 5.7K approx (ATX, SB850, SATA 6Gbps, USB 3.0, Core Unlocker, EPU for power saving, ...)

ASUSTeK Computer Inc.

2x 2GB Corsair DDR3 1333MHz/1600MHz - 4K approx

NZXT Gamma - 2.1K approx / CM Eliter 430 - 2.8K approx

p.s. Do the new batches of X2 555 BE unlock successfully?

Re: New Rig

Thought a lot about it, i will wait till sandy bridge arrives, thanks to everyone's valuable response.

Sandy Bridge processors will hit indian shores till 17th to 20th jan... The Official Launch Date is 9th January...

Re: New Rig

I see people quoting far high prices for DDR3 Ram sticks !! IMO a 4 GB kit should cost arnd maximum 2.5k if its a corsair XMS3 1600Mhz !! The Rams have down down badly !! I would reccomend you to wait till the prices stablise and then buy !!

No Sandy Bridge for now. You can get it if you are willing to give your mobo for RMA few weeks down the line or you are willing to live with the flaw.

Since you are not gonna OC i would suggest the following.

Components Description Price (INR)
Processor AMD Phenom II X4 945/AMD Phenom II X6 1075T 6200/9200
Motherboard MSI 880GMA-E45/M4A88T M/USB3 5200/5600
RAM Corsair XMS3 CMX4GX3M2A1600C9 2600
HDD 1 TB Seagate 7200.12 2750
GPU MSI HD6850 1GB GDDR5 10800
Monitor Benq E2220HD 8800
Cabinet NZXT Gamma 2200
Speakers Altec Lansing 2.1 VS2621 1650
Total 40200/43600

You can get yourself a decent set of KB+Mouse(~2k) with left over cash and you can also go for a 24" monitor like the G2420HD for ~11k-11.5k
Since you are not gonna OC a 880G series mobo would suffice IMO.

If you are willing to live with the design flaw of the Sandy Bridge chipset then
Core i5 2400 ~ 9.5k
Asus P8H67-M LE ~ 6.1k (Has only 2 RAM slots. So get a single stick 4GB RAM)
