Hey MohitPreet, I'm considering this model too! Could you help a fella out and ask your friend to confirm/rebuke if the 1450 has a synaptics touch pad?

I've seen the specs pdf from dell's website and it says synaptics drivers, but folks have run alps touch pads with synaptics drivers before. I really need someone to run everest/sisoft sandra to ID the hardware itself. I'd be wholly in your debt if u could do that!

thanks....another thing i was wondering is if the hdmi port on studio 14 has audio output???

i was reading d review on note book review ( Dell Studio 15 Review ) and it said that the hdmi port on studio 15 is video only...is tit same with studio 14 ???

Try to upgrade the resolution if possible.The base resolution of 720p sucks . Better take more warranty. Dell laptops give probs regardless of model (these days).
