@TS

This is only for Delhi and not for Mumbai. Please mention this in the subject and update the first post. MTNL offers are always circle specific.

Also change the "Unlimited Broadband Plan" to "FUP based Unlimited Plan"

atleast they have not closed the truly unlimited 2mbps plans and hope they do not do so in future.

this plan seems to be meant for people who are on FUPed plans from failtel,etc & still happy based on their usage, and MTNL wants its share in this market segment too.

however this will promote the pathetic FUP policies of private ISP's

These are additional plans and they are not discontinuing the good old unlimited plans, right? I am quite happy and content with their current Rs. 1899 2mbps unlimited plan, even the Rs. 999 for 1mbps unlimited is quite good.

Is FUP a Delhi/North region specific phenomenon in our country?

MTNL Delhi has it/MTNL Mumbai doesn't

Airtel who's senior management is based in Delhi is a staunch follower of FUP with not even one plan without FUP

Tata Indicom which is Mumbai/Pune based has a good number of non-FUP plans

Reliance which is Mumbai based also had truly unlimited plans until a few months ago and even now, few truly non-FUP based plans.

Interesting, don't you think?

me too thinking. but will it require modem reset at 11pm and 8 am? i remember this used to be the case about 5 years ago, when they had night UL.

tbh we still better off using the 1333 plan the best there is without FUP

and its sad that MTNL too went the fork you policy way

That night usage plan seems good, 512 in the day and 2MBps in the night. But is it a combo plan or will the phone usage be billed separately?

^^ no, it is not a combo as it hasn't been mentioned on the ad anywhere but i just wish it was a combo plan..

for those who are on 599 combo, it will prove to be costly than migrating to the 999 combo plane because afaik, the minimum landline plan starts from around 200bucks per month and it breaks the deal for all those who are on combo pland and don't make use of the mtnl landline that much..
