Can you imagine a quad core for 5.5k?
Yes, if somebody could do that it would certainly be AMD and they have done just that with their new Athlon II x4 620.
At a stock speed of 2.6Ghz it easily packs a punch , and according to reviews It's an overclockers delight with overclocking capacity upto 3.9Ghz on air cooling!.
According to tests when overclocked it easily beats phenom II 550 and Q6600.
The only disadvantage it may have is the lack L3 cache but if you can get hold of a particular/older batch processor you can even unlock that with ACC feature. Also when paired with a medium-high end graphics card the lack of L3 cache doesn't affect the performance and you have the power of 4 cores to do all your encoding stuffs.
But now to the most important question to you guys ..
Should i buy Phenom II x2 550 or Athlon II x4 620?
AMD has just added to my confusion...
All TE tech experts please think on it and reply of quickly cos i need to buy a new processor by this Sunday... So please help me out...
