Overclock i5 2500k to 4.2 to 4.3 @ stock voltage and you would be having an i7 2600k @stockclock like performing rig...

You are just buiding this rig for animation so i really dont think that you need a fancy looking Cabby... NZXT Gamma would just do the job...

Read somewhere that PNY manufacture good quadro cards.

Go for them if you are not into gaming.

Dont know availability or cost, hope others will help on this.

They also manufacture different cards for different apps like 3ds MAX,adobe etc.

PNY

hope it helps a little.

Like I said if you're buying good Quadros then be prepared to spend a bomb as the el cheapo Quadros are ridiculous. Eg. - Quadro FX 580 is actually a 9500GT and while it will be really fast at rendering it being a Quadro and all, it will still be slower than a similarly priced GTX460 when it comes to rendering.

^^ Buy a nVidia GTX 560 Ti PERIOD mate you can game, Fermi supports Tessellations (so its win-win) you can game as well as use the nVidia optimized Plug-Ins for MAYA and PhotoShop no sweat bruv.

Although if you want to game and don't really care about nVidia CUDA bling then an AMD HD 6950 1GB will fit the bill, squeeze a better frame-rate than the 560 Ti and can handle MAYA and other softwares with ease.

^^professional rendering machines are dedicated machines for A/V activities which churn out high quality processed video and audio

@OP
