Hey guys i just got a new airtel BB connection 4 days ago(explore 1099). I just wanted to know is, do you people experience downtime and how is their reponse after a complaint is made?

I too confirmed with my sales guy he also said that swift 1099 is no longer available.

The plans has changed a bit.

Currently the plan is:
512 kbps 6 AM to 10 PM
1 mbps 10 PM to 6 AM
No FUP on this plan.

I am currently using: 799 - 256 UL plan and would like to switch to Swift 1099. The 799 plan is no longer available so I can't switch back to it later.

My question is do I have to restart my router/computer to get 1 mbps or will it be done automatically. The operator I spoke to told me that I only have to restart my download. I don't know how that will help.

At times (in 4-5 months) for a couple of hours my download speed goes upto 250+. A lot of folks at airtel have experienced this. After that the speed again comes back to normal.
It does not require any restarting of router or computer.

Please reply guys as I have to send an e-mail requesting them to change the plan.

Thanks.

P.S.: The router in question is the default beetel 450BXl provided by Airtel.

This is Turbo 1299 plan.. Rental of Rs. 1299/- + tax... same old plan...

For AIRTEL speed change is automatic.. no need to restart anything...

^^ Thanks for the reply.

The turbo 1299 plan had FUP on it this one doesn't have it. Atleast that is what the operator told me and what the plan states on their site.

There is a 20gb limit on this plan.

I sent a mail to them to activate it and called them to confirm the same and then they tell me there is a 20 GB limit.

Has anyone subscribed to this plan. They told me that it came out in December.

I had a huge fight with operators at Airtel for misguiding me.

The only consolation is: I download during the night only during weekdays.

What happens to the 1 mbps speed after I cross 20gb?

Will they stop counting automatically after 10 P.M. and start counting after 6 A.M.?

Please advice. They'll call up for confirming the request and I need to make a decision before that.

P.S.: This is a clear case of cheating a customer by misleading them on Airtel's part.

^^ yaaar i was on 1299 2 months back.. but i neva felt speed cut..
i used to download 180+gb that time..get 1299 its niceeeeeeee
On 1699 now.....

according to their email,
only day time downloads are counted.if u dont cross 100 gb download during the day(which u will not)..there wont be no FUP!

btw.,u are on 1699 now, thats 1 mbps.IIRC it has 100 gb before FUP takes action.here i think night time download is also counted.

^^... There was no Sunday 1Mbps offer.. it was only a trick by marketing executives to sell these plans...

As I knew FUP had not been lifted from Turbo 1299 in most circles & Explore 1099 was the best plan without FUP..
