English TV series discussion

Actually PRISM is just a piece of crap decoy.
PoI is going Sarah Connor Chronicles way.

I understood that given by the description in the Machine's UI. PRISM seems to be a decoy, though it not known whether for the Machine or the Samaritan.

I am interested in whether the writers will take a shot at the political angle. Will there be a Snowden-like personality inside the show? If you take the show's name literally, Snowden is actually a significant Person of Interest in the real world. In the procedural plus conspiracy format of the show, will there be wiggle room for exploring serious drama?

I think that the decoy is for the Machine. After all, she was providing relevant numbers to agents all over the world to eliminate relevant threats.

And also, it is connected to the Machine and is listed as decoy in her database. So it is safe to say that the PRISM is decoy for the Machine.

As for Snowden expy in PoI, I think there is a chance that it will be explored. Jonah hinted at it in several interviews. But I have a hunch that it will be season 4 (You can guess what the finale of season 3 might be).

Collier is an extremist. He prefers to stay anonymous himself. Can't think that he will bring the Machine to public's attention.

Completed Masters of Sex this weekend and sorry folks, we have a dud here. I'm utterly disappointed in the show. The core plot itself is a joke, leave alone the annoying side ones, which make absolutely zero sense. The writing is sloppy and it's filled with incosistencies. I couldn't care for even a single character. I was hoping it would get better in each episode, but it became so boring to the point that I just wanted it to be over with. Looks like Showtime is loosing it's grip on quality programming.

That doesn't excuse the fact that it is absolutely drab. There have been TV mini-series which have done far better presentation of real life events. I suppose the whole subject and the way it's present is unappealing, or may be it's just me.

I hope you didn't fell in the trap with the word S* ;)

I usually make it a point to catch up with new shows from these cable networks. For example, last year, I caught up with Showtime's 'House of Lies' first season and even though it's second season has ended, I don't feel like going back to it. If the show is not interesting, no matter what the title (or content) is, I would not go back.

Yes and you had only suggested it. And now I am a great fan of it. Really love the show. Waiting for next season (thanks to Netflix)

and thank you suggesting me ;-) Now need moaaar

Harper's Island is one off the top of my head. It only lasted for one season, but it was a good murder/mystery show. I have also been meaning to pick up Broadchurch & Wire in the Blood. Perhaps, you could try 'Luther', if you haven't already.
