Storage Solutions Usb 3.0 Hard disk 1TB portable buying advice

I want to buy a USB 3.0 hard disk with 1 TB capacity (2,5 inch portable). My budget is around 6k.
Please advice. Max. I can go to 7.5k.

I was thinking of buying this
But then I found that it will need another cable worth 2-3k for USB 3.0 support.

Do all hard disks need another cable? Please include the cable cost in 7.5K budget.
 
There's no need for any other cable. This is a USB3.0 HD, but you'll need USB3.0 in your computer also, else it will run in 2.0 mode. (backwards compatibility mode)

Many laptops and motherboards today come equipped with 3.0.
 
The same product is listed on ebay & letsbuy as 'UPGRADEABLE' to USB 3.0. Thats why I thought. I can give the links if you want.

I don't have USB 3.0 now but I will upgrade to a new computer in 6 months time.
 
The ebay one you are referring to might have a usb 2 head supplied with it. Its mentioned on flipkart that this is usb 3, so you will not have to buy any extra cable.
 
I have a WD Passport Essential SE.. Its great for usage,but the Glossy Surface just cant withstand any movement..

My Friends Transcend Storejet is very sturdy and performance is on par with my WD in USB 3.0 (i.e. Around 60MBps for single file, 30-40Mbps for multiple files)
