Reliance Netconnect Doubt

Hi All,

I have a reliance netconnect. I was wondering whether I could use some other service providers sim in it for accessing internet. Is that possible? Please guide me.

Not hijacking your thread but I have a similkar doubt, can it be used with a 3G sim card? Like for BSNL unlimited iPad Plan?

It can be used if you are able to reprogram the device. The 3G modems have SIM card support, and if they are not locked to Reliance, then you can go ahead. Else you will need to unlock modem. Also for EVDO, you will need to reprogram the device.

Since the EVDO modems do not have support for a SIM (RUIM) card.

Can you please explain how can I unlock the modem?

Will it damage the device if I reprogram it?

After reprogramming can I still use it as a normal netconnect device without the SIM?

EVDO devices have a RUIM slot in which EVDO sim can be put

If the device has both , they can be unlocked and used

If EVDO device doesnt have RUIM slot it can be reprogrammed to change service provider
