So, My laptop HDD is kaput ):
And my data is gone. Was planning to back it up today but HDD went kaput earlier.

I have zeroed on this , this and this one.
Data size shouldn't make a difference but I am more inclined towards reliability since laptop might be switched on for days together.
Any suggestions ? any other features or cautions I should consider before buying one of them ?
I am not into hybrids atm, any cheaper options available ?
 
If you can afford a combination of 120 GB SSD + 1 TB HDD + Caddy to make the optical drive into a HDD bay, then thats the best way forward.

Else just get the HDD with max warranty. And single platter.
