Check the bios settings . . Enable the usb from there . .
I had the same problem with hcl pc somedays ago . .

usb controllers enabled in bios

Update your BIOS~!!!!!!!!

already the bios is the latest

installed the latest available INF chipset at gigabyte site...didnt help

Why dont you attach a screen capture of device manager showing USB status. Here is a screenie of my device manager which has USB setup properly on my Gigabyte UD3R Mobo.....
