Graphic Cards Compatible Graphic card suggestion

System Spec:-

Intel core to duo E 6400, 2 GB DDR2 RAM and Gigabyte G 41 Combo motherboard (PCI express ver. 1.1 )

Need a new graphic card for moderate gaming and multimedia needs.

I have tried finding answer to the question whether a PCI Express Card V 2.0 or 2.1 will work on the above mention motherboard.

Pls suggest..

The PCIe 1.1 / 2.0 and 3.0 are physically same format, the only difference is the increase in data band-width all PCIe 2.0 cards will run on older physical slots without problems.

Certain hardware features like I/O virtualization will not be supported by older slots [PCIe 1.1 / 2.0]

Also to sport the latest generation PCIe slot [PCIe 3.0] you will have to upgrade your CPU to a Intel Ivy Bridge system OR AMD's 9** series boards.

The HD 6770 is a re-branded / packaged HD 5770, it has a maximum board draw power of around ~120W, so the Corsair CX V2 430W is also sufficient for OPs' set-up.

But as he has mentioned he already has the Seasonic S12II 430W [whic is better than the CX V2] so he has plenty of juice for a HD 6770 OR HD 6790 / GTX 550Ti if he can find one for an appropriate price.

Thank you all for your suggestions; I would most probably buy a 6770; however questions remains whether PCi express Ver 2.0 or 2.1 card will work with PCI express Vesion 1.1. Version 2.0 seems to work in most of the cases; however Ver 2.1 card seems to have problems. Seen mixed responses / reviews ... Need clarification on this....

Should work as they are physically compatible. Any sources [links will be helpful] where there has been conflicts?
