They (AVoId+) will offer a 149 plan, but will exclude roaming or limit outgoing calls. There will be a catch. If you can get Jio, nothing will beat it.
Alternatively, look at BSNL. I heard it too has good plans to match Jio.

I have a few friends with the same issue, they too are considering dumping jio altogether due to poor network. One way of looking at it is, Jio might improve coverage in their area later on, but there's also the fact that they are in low user-density areas so this may not happen soon too.

A low cost plan with lower but usable calling limits would be pretty good. I mean even 300 mins a day is too much for most people (5 hours !). But the reason low cost unlimited calling is feasible for Jio is because it's volte and cost them practically nothing. Unlike other operators who have to switch down to 3G/2G when making a call, then back to 4G when the call is disconnected. So they may not be too eager to offer such plans. But from a point of view of capturing Jio's low spending customers, if I was a competitor, i would offer a plan just to get them, even if it's a slight loss to me. The higher ARPU subscribers should make up for it.
The way I see it, they would implement WiFi calling in those or implement microcells to attack that locations.

That is probably even a longer way off. Their existing wifi hotspots are itself hard to find.
Btw I had spoken to a guy in Jio fiber about getting a connection, and i live in a location with low density. Hardly 2km in either direction are more populated areas and they've set up a couple of exchanges there. He said each exchange serves about 1800 customers, so i guess somewhere around that figure would be the minimum before they consider implementing in a particular location. This is fiber mind you, it could be way different for wireless.

I think its 300 per week, not per day. Plus 100 uniques limit per week as well.
Secondly, VoLTE is not the reason for cheaper calls, its because they did not have multiple iterative technologies - 2G/3G/4G, just 4G. Since LTE has VoLTE to replace 2G, they were able to do it.
Coming to ARPU, I would actually attack Jio with my existing base showing that I don't need a new phone now, introduce carrier billing phones and give 149 calling plan for free for phones above certain ranges. Since Airtel has Airtel Money as the bank - I would give EMIs and get them to buy new phones.
It's easy to ramp up WiFi hotspots, very easy. Hopefully they have the needed fiber.
They want to do whole buildings in my area for fiber.

Volte is definitely a factor since it's packet based and can be routed efficiently, whereas traditional 3g/2g circuit switched calls use costly spectrum for the duration of the call, with compression not saving much. But yeah, having to work with one single solid technology is also a big factor. In any case, at this time they're looking at dominating the market, so they may even be offering plans initially which are not at all feasible for them. It's just even more prohibitive for the incumbents.

Agree about the 4g phone dependency, in fact as i've already mentioned elsewhere, in my redmi 3s which is completely volte/vilte compatible, there is still the 4g sim slot dependency. If i select the other slot for data, even 2g, the jio slot goes completely offline since it works only on 4g, which is probably a limitation of my phone's chipset. which is also why i would rather use AVoId if they had a plan with the same cost-benefit as Jio's 149.

Based on his figures, if they want 1800 customers for even one exchange that would require a minimum of 10-20 buildings at least.
Btw, in my case, their fiber backbones are passing through or very near my area for sure. Just that they wont set up an exchange without the required min subs. He said they will probably look at these areas in the next phase, around 6 months later. After the rains or so.

Connectivity isn't top notch in my place either. I have seen the LTE icon going away many times now. Even the HD icon goes away sometimes, basically you won't be able to make a call or receive one in that period. Network is not comparable with Voda or Airtel anyway, but probably for many people that's good enough. 24x7 reliability doesn't matter to all.

Not few.. Most of them are waiting for that only. Just for the sake of avoiding headaches i have diverted not reachable calls to Secondary Sim from AVOID.

Last time i checked (couple months ago), i couldn't forward calls from my jio number...
Confused by the calculation. What is 253? and are you recharging in advance? other than the 99 rupees prime deadline of march 31?

Nope, according to the TnC and people of Desidime, the CB is only applicable on 303 or above. I will only do the 149 one too.
