Zoom to pay $85M for lying about encryption and sending data to Facebook and Google

I loved how it says - class lawyers would get attorneys' fees of up to 25 percent of the $85 million and up to $200,000 for reimbursement of expenses. About a dozen named plaintiffs are seeking approval of payments of $5,000 each.
And other users can claim upto $25/15.

Classic US.

They users are getting upto 15% of what they spent which is acceptable if you ask me.

The more important thing about these lawsuits is that it makes the companies think twice before trying this crap again.

I agree that in most cases the companies pay peanuts but at least they have a consumer protection mechanism there unlike us.
