its 17,200 on flipkart but i found this seller on ebay offering it for 14,000...

since iv never bought anything from ebay before,i wud appreciate if ebay regulars could share some thoughts about this item/seller

Dealer warranty is as good as nothing at all. Basically, a grey market piece. So if anything goes wrong, you will have to rely on the dealer for service and replacement (neither of which happen usually) or pay full service charges to get it serviced elsewhere.

Since the dealer is from your own city in this case, you can see if it is possible to meet him directly and negotiate offline. You might save the ebay charges too, and since you have a rapport with the dealer, you could always approach him personally in case anything goes wrong later.

its purchased from US mostly. its selling for 250-270$ in USA. the thing with dealer warranty is, its not binding on the dealer. say the phone has a minor fault which is very cheap to repair, the dealer might do it. but say the motherboard goes kaput, he might refuse to honor the warranty. he wont give you anything in writing so there's nothing you can do.
