Hi guys,

Looking for a 2 GB DDR2 800 RAM to dual channel with my existing Kingston 2GB DDR2 800.

Brand is not very important, whats important is the frequency of the RAM, which must be same.
 
Can't you pair a higher frequency RAM with a lower one? Doesn't the higher frequency RAM automatically underclock itself?
 
^ it does, but its always better to choose RAMs of same frequency, else you might be lucky enough to get BSOD
 
@CA50 : I thought the timings 5-5-8 (etc) also mattered. RAMs ought to have the same timing seq.

@ashvarybabul : Let me look for some more days. I hope its DDR2 800 you are quoting.
 
I have Corsair 2GB single stick with 8yrs+ Warranty left. Check my thread, selling for Rs900+Shipping. Also you can check for motherboards.

ya mate, the timing must be same also.

Usually value ram works at the same timing.

My existing memory has Latency : 6-6-6-18

And Corsiar Value Select has Latency : 5-5-5-18

Both are PC2 6400, will they work in dual channel?
 
No problem. There is not rush. If it is possible to get the corsair run with the Kingston, then I will buy it.

Just need to be sure before buying.
 
I think so, because last time i used one corsair value ram and a transcend ram in dual channel.
