Graphic Cards Will 3080 Ti run on MWE 650 v2 PSU?

LOL! Thanks, that's a little comforting.
I recently got the 3080ti, 650W isn't enough, as during loads it definitely goes beyond 650W it's a power hungry card. Since I have a 660W UPS, it makes a constant noise when not able to charge at higher loads. Hence, able to figure out the load isn't enough.

Just undervolt it somewhat and then see the difference. You won't loose much of performance. But will have to tinker a bit to get max performance for least power draw.
Your psu will make noise but won't blow up as all psu factor in the over provisioning of power draw usually 10-20% max. If it goes beyond that it will trip and switch off if there is OCP in it.

You'll be fine, as long as you keep the card on stock power limits.

I have a 3080 + 7800X3D on a 750W PSU. The card is heavily overclocked, with it pulling close to 370W in games. The total draw along with the processor is less than 500W.

Also earlier, I ran a 2600K + R9 290 on a 450W PSU for a year with zero problems (which I don't recommend, but it worked).

It's doable if you:
  • Apply under volt
  • Set Power limit to say 80% (in MSI Afterburner)
  • Enable vsync + set your monitor to 60 fps
But first check if you actually have the required number of PCIe power cables on your PSU (not splitters)

I assume you are referring to APC 1100VA UPS which is rated as 660W. It starts beeping at around 525W. I have tested it using a power meter on my system which has a 3090 and 13600kf. The total power consumption of my system crosses 500W only when CPU and GPU both are stressed.

I ran MSI Ventus 3x 3090 for 9-11 minutes with max load (Furmark) on my RM650 Corsair. It was for testing purpose and I did not face any interruption while doing the test because I use intel non K processor and just one nvme. So, it should be ok if you not adding any extra stuff like rgb fans, multiple ssds or hard disk etc.

Here is my config:
Intel core i3 12100F
Asus H610M-E D4
G.SKILL Ripjaws V Series 8GB (1x8GB) 3200MHz DDR4 Memory X 2
Crucial P3 1TB M.2 NVMe
Cooler Master MWE 650 v2 Bronze
2 X 1TB HDDs(not sure whether 5400 or 7200 RPM)
Deepcool Matrexx 40 3FS Cabinet

With this config it won't be issue as far as i think as cpu is the base one only with 60w tdp that i think will take max 100w under load and with 3080ti at full load it will be around 500-550w max with all accessories. Which i guess you won't be hitting often. But to keep things cooler i would suggest to undervolt the gpu and still get good performance.

Uvolted or stock?
Stock and i think it was also the cheapest possible supply corsair made.. vs650 or something.

EDIT: Idk what you guys are worrried about.. its simple maths.. 3080 ti is a 350watts card + 65W for the processor.. lets even say 100 and another 100 for the misc harddrives etc.. thats still 550watts. :|

Even if its the most trash tier supply.. the worst that could happen is it would shut down.

Hey, it's about time you upgrade your PC and get a new SMPS to go with it. I mean, I was using a 3090Ti with a 2600K processor, and let me tell you, when I finally upgraded to a 14700KF, I realized that the old 2600K was seriously holding back the GPU's performance.

Rise of Tomb raider -

2600K - with DLSS, I was not able to touch 80 and this is 4K Quality
14700KF - without DLSS & 4K Ultra, I get 100+ frames. And this is 4096x2160 not the UHD. Except for Alan-wake II, everything works like a charm.
