Car & Bike Which bike to choose under 1.5Lak with 150cc for cruising ?

Hey guys, Suggest me a good bike under 1.5Laks.
My requirements.
1. Wanna drive @ at least 120KM speed
2. For office commutation and frequent trip of about 350KM
3. Budget up to 1.5 laks
4. Comfortable pillion seat

Bikes I have in mind
1. Fazer v2
2. Honda CBR - 150R -- I like the orange-white with Fairings

Also
KTM RC200 - Out of my budget but still if its good for long trip with pillion I wanna go for it.

At least 120? A comfortable cruising speed on the Indian highways is 80-100kph. Riding above that is risking your neck, what with dogs popping out on the highway, goats, cattle, people jumping out between dividers. Add to the mix the lovely habit of people driving on the wrong side of any given highway at any time. A 150CC vehicle won't be comfortable holding 120 kmph continuously either.

The way I see it, you should get a CBR250R for touring. However given your first comment about riding at dangerous speeds, I would rather you have a lower CC vehicle and get used to it before doing a Rossi on the streets.

1: Duke 200 or 200NS or Honda CBR150R
2: Honda CBR150R for the highways. The 200 NS would be distant second. The Duke 200 would be even behind.
3: same as 1.
4: same as 1

The Fazer v2 is just 13.5 BHP. and is costing around 94K.
It is
a) not worth the price
b) very slow
c) wont be able to maintain 120 km speed.

Thanks Guys.
Lets forget that 120.

I personally dont prefer pulsar bcoz of durability

I inquired the on road prices today.

One of my friend suggested me Suzuki Gixxer -
Please pour in your thoughts for Gixxer guys.

keeping in mind the comfort and ample power, i will advise you to have a test drive of avenger 220. Its one of the most comfortable bike out there with ample of power to cruise.

@rajes_hacker - I have heard good things about the Gixxer, but Suzuki's is not good with spares availability and service. Keep that into consideration when purchasing the bike. The earlier GS150R was a very underrated vehicle, it is superb on the highways (if a trifle underpowered) while giving excellent mileage. Please check the xBhp Gixxer vehicle ownership thread for more info on the bike.

If you want the CBR150R for the looks and power, it's a very good vehicle as well.

I test drove the gixxer last week. The bike looks pretty good except for the fugly front headlight (which seems to be the norm nowadays). Smooth gear shifts and nice engine sound. Felt tiny coming from a GS150r though. Why not consider the Karizma? It is supposed to be good for touring and has a big pillion seat as well.

for cruising why not thunderbird, or royal enfield classic 500??
I own duke 200, not rc but original one. Its awesome for city rides and short weekend trips. I have done some touring also but its a little stretch for touring.

Today I drove my friends avenger 220 Dtsi. Felt very cool for cruising.
And tomorrow planning to test drive Fazer V2.

I feel RE is big for me. I am thin and medium heigh.

@chiron: I had karizma ZMR in the list but later I removed it coz of reviews/comments on its looks and complete HERO ownership.

Now I have these in the list,
1. fazer
2. Avenger
3. CBR 150

@chiron - the new Karizmas (dual vertical headlamps) don't have a lot of positive reviews, some users are also reporting problems. The older version didn't have any issues and is superb as a tourer.

Avenger has horrible brakes, on locking up, it tends to skid sideways quite often. The pillion comfort isn't there either.
The Fazer is a good bike, but a trifle underpowered.

Today I did a test drive of Fazer v2 and FZ-S v2.
Felt the same. switching gear was very smooth.
Could not get CBR 150R for test drive.
Hey guys any idea on CBR Mileage in the city ?

Wow dude. Looks like someone is ripping you off.

Also I heard you wanted a goodseat. So why is Yamaha R15 in that list?

Ya dude. Those are the on road prices in Bangalore.

R15 is not in my list for sure.
Few people suggest to take FZ-s and replace with the fazer handle.

Totally confused. :(

I guess he is talking about duke rc 200, Honda cbr150 is deluxe and cbr 250 will be ABS.
Rest all prices are close to On road prices in Navi Mumbai.

Duke 200 - 1.98L - UNCOMFORTABLE FOR FOR LONG RIDES for MANY, not fuel efficient
Honda CBR150R - 1.48L - UNCOMFORTABLE FOR LONG RIDES
Honda CBR250R - 1.92L - UNCOMFORTABLE
Yamaha FZ-S - 0.98L - UNDERPOWERED
RC200 - UNCOMFORTABLE AS HELL
Fazer - UNDERPOWERED
Avenger - Bad mileage and maintenance issue that can be taken care of by changing riding habits and a bit of preemptive maintenance, but suits your usage pretty nicely

:), and the rates given to you are on the higher side too.

Welcome to bangalore - we have 25% road tax here and no roads to speak of :p.
