I find china has great availability of otherwise obscure tech. If you need parts for something you're building/fixing, it's a goldmine there if your relative is willing to explore. Look out for well known chinese brands that aren't very affordable here. I recall importing haylou earphones and ugreen cables. A lot of small electronics are easily available there, and cost twice if not more elsewhere.
