So far my Nexus 5 holds up.

Each messenger has a group of friends or colleagues im in contact with. Pretty much vital for me.

But i use mainly Skype and Hangout --- Before many many years ago... i have Yahoo Messenger lol.

It's good if your phone is holding up well :). I understand about the different groups. I have Kik installed on my phone for a few of my friends, whereas most of the time I use WhatsApp. I am not a fan of WhatsApp particularly, but since everyone uses it, what can I do. I would like to use Telegram, which is more secure.. but oh well.

I used to use Yahoo Messenger too. I think that it is still a pretty good messenger for PC.. for messaging, or even voice/video calls. Although yes, I don't use it anymore.

Well, I noticed my post here was from months before, and for my older phone. I started using Nexus 5 a few months back... much better than my old phone, which was good, but was somewhat low on resources.

The main apps I use pretty much remain the same.

ES File Explorer - the best in file managers

Firefox - since I have got enough resource, I am using Firefox. I find it the best. It was quite bad when it first came to Android, but it has really improved now, and became my favorite, like on my PC.

IMDB - great for information on movies

Kik - to be in touch with a few of my foreign friends.

MX Player - best among all. It does not play videos with AC3 codec nowadays though.

VLC - good but not good enough yet. Have kept it mainly to play videos with AC3 codec.

QuickPic - because stock one isn't good enough.

WhatsApp

Skype - use it rarely.

Local Press Co... Seemed like a cool concept so I ended up downloading it and its pretty easy to use. It's a local news app where people report news on the go. Check it out!

Other Apps I like are:
