Hi All,

New guy in class.. hoping for some benevolence - while imparting your technological insights. :)

Q: What is your budget?

25K (maximum)

Q: What is your existing hardware configuration (component name - component brand and model)

too embarrassed to tell :ashamed:

Q: Which hardware will you be keeping (component name - component brand and model)

Monitor - Samsung 15" Syncmaster
Keyboard & Mouse
HDD - Seagate 500 Gb + External 100 GB
Optical Drive - LG R/W Disc Drive

Q: Which hardware component are you looking to buy (component name). If you have already decided on a configuration then please mention the (component brand and model) as well, this will help us in fine tuning your requirement.

CPU
Motherboard
GPU
PSU
Cabinet
RAM

Q: Is this going to be your final configuration or you would be adding/upgrading a component in near future. If yes then please mention when and which component
I might be inclined to upgrade my Graphic Card in future - but not until my current card is incapable of playing the future games, even at medium settings

Q: Where will you buy this hardware? (Online/City/TE Dealer)
New Delhi

Online is an option as well - if the source is trustworthy

I am actually Handicapped with both my legs – I would prefer if the vendor can buy components & assemble the PC – and deliver it to me at my home if plausible (at a cost to me of course)

Q: Would you consider buying a second hand hardware from the TE market
No

Q: What is your intended use for this PC/hardware

Gaming
Browsing
Desktop Processing
Watching HD movies

in that order too..

Q: Do you have any brand preference or dislike? Please name them and the reason for your preference/dislike.

I'm brand agnostic - cuz I'm not aware of the Pros & Cons, so i'm relyin on the experts in this house

Intel vs AMD... NVIDIA vs ATI... no idea

Q: If you will be playing games then which type of games will you be playing?

Strategy - Civilization series , Football Manager series
Action - Splinter Cell Series, Prince of Persia series, Street Fighter series

I'm open for playing games at medium-high settings - but willing to leave room for future GPU upgrade for some eye candy, money allowing.

Q: What is your preferred monitor resolution for gaming and normal usage

1280x728

that is cuz i did'nt have a choice with my 8600GT

Q: Are you looking to overclock?

No

would'nt know how to...TBH

Q: Which operating system do you intend to use with this configuration?

Windows 7 32 Bit

u have to use 64-bit OS to utilize 4gb RAM.

Thanks Roxtin,

The Cabinet you have recommended - is it important to have that or can i go for a slightly cheaper (but effective) cabinet ?

Thanks VIP,

I might be looking to hold on to the monitor for some time since one of my friends' 17" Viewsonic LCD may come my way in a couple of months once he shifts base to Delhi (i only make charitable friends you see.. :p)

If i were to invest in a reasonably good GPU (perhaps lasting me a couple of years) for now, then what would you recommend ?

0.75k increase in your config in so not much but much worth it.

with that gpu the best games are handled at 1920x1080 very well so no need for future upgrade of gpu

Is the price correct for Intel DH67BL?

dude,

i would suggest you wait for amd llano launch.

it will surely have better pricing and better performance than intel with on board gfx.

its launch will certainly push sandy bridge prices down.

so lets wait and watch if you ok.

or else you can go ahead with dual core amd based system and save cash.
