I am looking to build a not too expensive PC for Video Editing (Reels, youtube vids, Shorts)

I have the following components, and want to spend as little as possible.

1. CPU - i5 10400F - (RMA'ed) new piece
2. Mobo - MSI H510M - H (I know its basic, but it was bought for a office setup)
3. Graphics - ZOTAC GeForce GT 710 2GB DDR3
4. HDD - a few SSDs and 1 M.2 - WD Green 256GB
5. PSU - Antec VP450

Any help would be great.

What video editing software do you use? Does it not work on this config?
I am using Da Vinci Resolve. currently running it on my Laptop. (which is great till input video sizes are under a GB, otherwise it eats up the ram and slows down).

This Pc was in my office earlier. but stopped working
and had to get the CPU RMA'ed. so office work has now permanently moved an AIO.

And since this is free right now, and because the CPU has just been replaced, I wanted to check if there is anything that I should change.

As for this config, I haven't yet put it back together.

You need to have
1. Atleast 16GB RAM. If you have 8GB right now, put another 8GB stick
2. Buy a better graphics card. See if RX6600 or 3060 is in your budget.

For a massive improvement, you might have to go for i5 13500 based rig IMO. Even a R5 5600 will be an improvement for sure, but not like a night & day difference.

So as others suggested, upgrade RAM, get a 20-25k GPU.

IMO get 2x16GB RAM (under 6k), 3060 12GB (25k) & a good 1TB SSD (SN570 under 5k) where OS, apps & your working files reside. You will need a new PSU, Deepcool PM650D will be good for 5k. So will cost ~40k.

1. Very doable. Will check it out. GSkill Ripjaws 16GB

2. This is seeming like a stretch right now. But will check out the classifieds for a cheaper used option.

Yes I know that a new CPU/Mobo set would make a lot of difference, but I am just trying to utilize as much as I can right now.
Also, until my content starts giving proper money, I dont want to spend that much.

But will surely take your suggestion on the SSD part.
