While looking at the the PIB site for sovereign gold bonds, I found the following line:
"The tenor of the SGB will be for a period of eight years with an option of premature redemption after 5th year to be exercised on the date on which interest is payable."
source: https://pib.gov.in/PressReleaseIframePage.aspx?PRID=1984145
The staff at my bank always used tenor, but I simply ignored it. But today I did a google search for "tenor site:icicibank.com" and found that tenor has been used multiple times on their website. Same for HDFC and Citibank (IN).
Am I missing something? Doesnt' 'tenor' mean something completely different.
