GPU - Sapphire HD6850 ~ 9.9k
CPU Cooler - CM Hyper 212 Plus ~ 1.9k
PSU - Corsair VX450 ~ 3.5k
Case Fans - Blue LED 120mm (Need suggestions on brand/price)
RAM - Corsair 2GB Value RAM ~ 1k
CHASSIS - CM 430 w/ Side Window ~ 2.7k

Total: 18.9k

May be Rs.700-1k for the fans.

Then get yourself a 22" Benq G2220HD and enjoy gaming in FHD :D (7.4k)

Total cost : ~27k-27.5k

You can get the extra dough from selling the current monitor.

Thanks for your suggestions but,
I need a motherboard too :(
The motherboard needs to support Dual Channel DDR3 and good overclocking features.

As for the monitor I'll buy a new one as soon as this one goes kaput :eek:hyeah:

Errr... Then you dont have to upgrade the GPU. For the resolution i guess this would be sufficient.
Plus its not wise to put money on the LGA775 mobo in this age! Any issues with current motherboard?
Better wait up for Llano and upgrade. Or go for the Sandy Bridge platform.

Hyper 212+ Cooler is good @ 1.9k

Do urself and plz dont go for the GTX550TI(Total Idiot) edition...might as well get a HD6850...or a HD6790 at least...

A CM E430 w side window might set u back by 2.7k

For 120mm fans u might consider CM R4 fans....1200rpm 45cfm non LED @250 each or 2000rpm 90cfm LED @ 450 each...

My current mobo doesn't support overclocking (Intel Essentials ><")

I could go for the sandy bridge processors but it would overshoot my budget.

Any cheap Proc + Mobo combos you can suggest? (AMD works too)

Processor Intel Core i5 2400 9300

Motherboard MSI H67MA-E35 4600

RAM Corsair Value DDR3 1333MHz CL9 1x4GB 2100

GPU MSI HD6670 1GB 5500

Cabinet NZXT Gamma 2100

PSU Corsair CX400 2600

Total 26200

Gonna be keeping this PC for 2~3 years more.

Spending money on a cooler just to overclock an already EOL'ed CPU is really not worth it... So buy i5 2400 which would easily outperform E7500 even if overclocked at 4GHz and would easily serve you for two three years more...

^^ NZXT Gamma has availibility issues in Delhi, so OP has effectively no option apart from the Cooler Master eLite 430 that is outperformed by the Gamma, tough luck. I think OP should stick to what DarkAngel said, the HD 6670 is almost useless once OP bumps up his monitor screen.

^^ He mentioned that he would game at 1280x1024 resolution so an HD6670 would be more than enough... And he didnt mention that he would be upgrading his monitor later... If he is gonna then he should buy i3 2100 + MSI H67MA-E35 + HD6850

dont go for DDR3 at lga775 the performence improve is less than 10%

ur board is enough to overclock 380-400fsb

even more if you are lucky

its an decent overclocker

just add 1 more stick of kingston

and hyper212+ and overclock ur cpu

and buy 6850 cyclone-9.5k(for future proof)

and for 120mm fan

buy cooler master 90cfm sickel flow-400Rs

cm 430 elite/w side window-2.5k

P.S these prices are from vipin imports nehru place

@nick2012 - My board cannot overclock due to its bios being locked :(

PMHades.

Sandy Bridge is really expensive right now. The main reason I'm not breaking the bank and spending on this rig is because in about two years I wouldn't even touching PCs due to 12th.
I compiled a rig at SMC's website, any suggestions/comments?

Since the new config is overkill for gaming @ 1280*1024. Your present set up will do fine for 720p gaming! Its not a wise investment w/o a monitor upgrade.

Plus i would suggest the HD6850 instead of the GTX550 unless you are anti ATI/AMD. (Considering you game @ 1080p)

The HD6850 is 1.4k more in Nehru Place :(

With my current setup I can't play anything fine at 1280x720(thats 720p afaik)

Plus a monitor upgrade is gonna come in like 8 months so I need a bit of overkill :)

I'm not Anti ATI/AMD its just that my previous ATI cards didn't work well because of their drivers.

9.9k from smc. SAPPHIRE Radeon HD 6850 1GB

Drop the CPU cooler. PII X4 955BE is plenty for the GPU even @ stock.

Wierd. Biostar GeForce 9600 GT 512 MB V9603GT52 Review - Page 7/25 | techPowerUp

Since review says it can play crysis @37fps 1280*1024(2xAA, 8xAF) and 51fps @ 1024*768.(0x AA, 0x AF)

The test setup CPU is E6550 @ 2.33GHz and 2GB RAM. E7500 2.93Ghz is much more powerful than the E6550!

In that review the game is played in DX9 mode with graphics set to High. Plus thats a game from the 2007s now however graphically heavy it is

I have one question, should I get a Phenom II X2 555 BE and unlock it to 3 or 4 cores? It would bring down my cost alot xD

But still its Crysis, right? Dont risk it for saving 1k. If it doesnt unlock then its not VFM
