- Backup your device using iTunes (or iCloud) before using evasi0n. If something breaks, you'll always be able to recover your data.
- Those who use backup passwords in iTunes must disable them for now. After doing so, iTunes makes a brand new backup. Please wait for that backup to complete before proceeding! Feel free to re-enable your backup password after jailbreaking.
- Please disable the lock passcode of your iOS device before using evasi0n. It can cause issues.
- Launch evasi0n, plug in your device, and click "Jailbreak". Just sit back and observe its progress. Watch for any steps you may be asked to perform.
- Avoid all iOS and iTunes related tasks until evasi0n is complete. Why not just enjoy a brief break from the computer to stretch your legs?
- If the process gets stuck somewhere, it's safe to restart the program, reboot the device (if necessary by holding down Power and Home until it shuts down), and rerun the process.
Evasion is easiest method of JB. No DFU mode & crap. Plug-in & relax

Does not take more than 10 mins !
-Detects the phone, press jailbreak
-phone reboots
-phone restarts, on screen it says injecting JB
-then it says, uploading cydia. iPhone screen will be blank.
-then phone starts again
-software says press jailbreak in iPhone. Find new jailbreak app in iphone [it has evasion icon]
-after clicking screen goes blank & comes again live. Don't press this thing twice !!
-Software reads Injecting remount payload
-Root : File system successfully remounted
-JB data, step 3.
-phone reboot
-phone starts with evaders logo, reboot
-this is long reboot
-again evasion logo : Cleaning Up
-DONE !! Continuing to boot
-JB DONE
 
Installous is dead so no more use of JBing, except for SB settings i don't find anything else appealing. I am bored of iPhone :yawn:.

Will this work on iPad 3 wifi? Mine is still running ios v5.x. I didnt upgrade it to ios 6 because JB wasnt available then.
 
People who think Iphone is boring because Installous is dead are noobs!

Jailbreaking is not just installinbg cracked apps, its about experimenting and playing with some really cool features, you never expected from your Idevices, Cydia is full of them,

Plus for Installing *Ahem* apps, there are still better alternatives to Installous, like Vshare , appcake etc

Those who intend to update to iOS 6.X version and also want jailbreak, it is suggested to get your device updated soon as Apple has released iOS 6.1.1 which probably fixes the exploits used in evasi0n jailbreak which means probably iOS 6.1.1 might not be jailbreakable for some more time to come.

I am still on the fence whether to update or not. Any way to install Appsync back ? I know installous is dead but asking about appsync since if i do have it, i can use iFunbox to install apps, else it does not work.

AppSync won't be dead. Appsync for iOS is available in hackyouriphone/sinfuliphone repo. Make sure you are downloading the right version.
 
Ive updated.
Using Vshare App to install apps.

Appsync for IOS 4.x-6.x available in many repos like hackyouriphone, sinfulrepo etc is working flawlessly
 
I am not using Vshare app. but using their Website for getting ipa's.

Installing those using iFunbox (Simplest Process).

Appcake I found very primitive the collection is also insufficient.
