Unable to connect through D-link Ethernet PCI Adapter

Hi guys,
I am using a fairly old pc (configuration below) from last few years. Due to internal network port got damaged I am using an USB to Ethernet adapter for network connection(wishnet broadband) for more than a year without any issue (in fact I am using it right now). But my local ISP agent inform me that I should use a PCI NIC for better service and reliability so, I purchased a D-link 10/100Mbps Fast Ethernet PCI Adapter (DFE-520TX) and installed it and without any driver installation it shows in device manager installed perfectly.
But when i connect the LAN cable to its port it doesn't lit up and showing network cable unplugged although immediately when I connect that to my old USB to Ethernet adapter its working fine. Can't understand whats the problem. At first I thought my mobo PCI slot got damaged but if so then how the PCI card showing installed and running perfectly in device manager.
Please help me
Thanks in advance.
