have finally understood playing on PS3 and working on a PC day long won't help me later .. So finally decided to strt some basic exercises.

Have started jogging and skipping rope. Shud i join a gym or continue with this and some other exercises which i can do at home ??

Asking because i am living near my company and it is 15 kms away from main city. so joining gym wud be a pain ..

Also i have a bit heavy chest or tht's wt i feel. Is there any specific exercise to tone it down ? ( wearing tees which are regular fit makes me embarrasing

)

You need Diet + Cardio.

Diet isnt that bad. You need to maintain a negative calorie balance. Say -500 and the weight will go down. 45 min of cardio at decent speed in morning and evening.

See if your company has a gym, cause you will need gym to do weight training to tighten up the chest. Explore online resources and popular websites, you'l know more.What i gave you is the gist.

I think you want to spot reduce fat on your chest.

Unfortunately thats just not how the human body works. Body fat is a percentage. You can't lose fat in one spot. Fat loss happens universally.

Just start jogging, cycling etc and watch what you eat. It takes time, but if you stay committed you can start wearing normal t shirts again.

To give you an example. I was 88 kilos at 5'9. I lost 10 kilos in 45 days. And 8 more over the next 3 months. The first few kilos are easy. Just go for it.

Also i read in this thread either walk or sprint but do not jog ..
rolleye17.gif
plz throw sm light on this ..

HIIT or interval training is proved to be more effective at losing weight than doing consistent cardio. You sprint for some time and then walk and sprint again and walk, say sprint - 10seconds and walk - 10seconds or whatever you're comfortable with. This way you'll shed those pounds better compared to when you just jog at a constant pace.

If you are a beginner don't try hiit. You hav

e to build a base level of cardio first. Try it after a month or so.

. No amount of suggestions will help you achieve your goals. Although I would like to mention that along with cardio do some strengthening exercise for your legs (likes of squats, leg presses, curls, etc.). It will save your knees in the long run. And do NOT run on hard surfaces.

ok here is a sitaution. I used to do gym, was very fine and results were good, but I developed a sort of injury, the right leg bone above calf muscle has a buldge.

There is usually not much pain, but during jogg/running there is lot of tension. I showed it to doc and he said its stress fracture. (initially the lame doc said it was bone tumor but after diagnosis X ray of both legs he said its stress fracture

)

I have kind of discontinued by training and usually jogg off and on (not regular) there is still that bulging. What am I suppose to do ? I took 3 weeks rest that doc said but still not fixed.

How do I fix that and strengthen legs so that in future I avoid such injury ?

Sorry for the late reply as I did not get the notification indicator.

A stress fracture develops swelling only if its big, and long standing and swelling happens around the site of the fracture (Over bone) not over muscles. the common bones involved are tarsal and metatarsal bones of the foot, shin bone and spines.

As you are telling swelling over calf and pain, then it seriously needed to be looked into it.

From your info I feel you have consulted only a physiotherapist and not a specialist orthopedician, then I would suggest to consult a ortho surgeon asap.

also if you can pm / email your xrays can help you a bit more. also let me know what your orthopedician told you.

^^Will PM you the xray , will try and take some pics asap.

Apart from it. The swelling is in the leg bone opposite the cafl

Tibia is what is called shin bone on common parlance
<
right at the point the line meets the bone mentioning name of bone "Tibia" thats where the stress fratures of this bone happenes.

Another cause could be faulty footwear (Remember Patinson during India v/s Australia test series), faulty technique of walking, running, and exercising.

Thats why I said you need to consult an Orthopedic surgeon asap.

waiting for your pm with xrays.

if you mean to lose weight then NO, this is mostly use to cleanse your GI tract, and mostly practice and recommended by Indian dietitians. may be it helps indirectly no research on this.

its mostly the way one diet i.e achieving negative calorie balance, rather than the method of training in losing weight, but again a holistic approach is needed
