hey mates,

My dad runs a private school and he needs a laptop:S for carrying out practical works in the school......the theory behind this -greater portability || power saving

so he needs a strong built 15.6 incher for the cheapest price and longest warranty!(please take note of the config as well :D)

thanks in advance !

we are considering anything which costs less than 23k

DDR3 is faster than DDR2, but looking at your usage it wont make any difference.
Only if you ever upgrade RAM, DDR2 is expensive than DDR3.
DDR 2 Kingston
1 GB 925
2 GB 1525

DDR 3 -1333 Kingston
2 GB 1100
4 GB 2050

Why have you quoted desktop RAM prices :p
DDR 2 Kingston
1 GB 1200 (deltapage pricing)
2 GB 1500

DDR 3 -1333 Kingston
2 GB 1150
4 GB 2100

But keep in mind that when you want to upgrade in say an year or so DDRII would be completely out dated and price might have gone up a bit due to lower volumes

so have to give ddrIII the priority :)

also since the laptop would be used in a school (quiet roughly) ...so which's the best brand in terms of build quality?
