i will be gaming and video encoding. currently i hv a p4. so suggest me something that wud make a difference ( blow my p4 away :eek:hyeah:)

In your provided combos, there are both AMD and Intel CPUs. I wonder what mother board you possess !!! :O Please provide your rig details first. And then say what exactly you do need (i.e. CPU + GPU or anything else).

@tufel

Well, you mean you are gradually building the combination. Good, but to decide on the right CPU + GPU combo, you have to ensure on the monitor resolution first. Which one do you plan to buy or you have one ??

From the above 3 none.

Phenom II X2 550(5.4k) + 4670(4.3k) + Zebronics Pro 350 (1.5k)
dude, r u sure that phenom II x2 is 5.4k?. I dont understand. Phenom starts from x3 , right ???. so where is the question of x2 in phenom II ?. Correct me if m wrong.. I am in chennai and i dont find any phenom II proccies here. Can u plz tell me where in chennai i can get phenom II x2 550 ???

but Phenom II X2 550 hardly beats e7400 in the reviews i've seen. byt the way i will be gaming at 1024x768. i want something that wud last me for abt 2 yrs.
e5200 with 9600gt and cm 390 looks gud, but...e5200 is a basic entry level chip. plz people help me out of this.

That would depend on what mobo you pair the the E5200 with.
But wait, since you aren't going to overclock it would be pointless to go with the E5200. Shame because that chip can do 4Ghz and 1600+FSB on a G31M S2L easily.
Drop the 9600GT and get an HD 4670 instead
Also, no plans to upgrade your display anytime soon?
What RAM are you using currently? PSU? Seriously you need to provide all this info...
Anyway, get G31M ES2L+E5200+HD 4670+2x2GB Transcend 800Mhz RAM, i think that will be your best bet @ 13k.
No point spending on E7400 or something higher, if you can do that just squeeze in the 550 X2 and a good motherboard, you'll be much better off.

Good luck.
