PC Peripherals suggest me a UPS for my rig

Hey guys please suggest me a ups for my rig and my requirements



My Rig

C2D E7200 2.53 Ghz

Intel DG35ec

ATi 4850 HD

5 Internal HDDs

Cooler Master Extreme Power 600W

ViewSonic 17"

Electricity condition at house

many 1-2 minute power failures

rarely long duration power cuts

Future proofing UPS

I am planning to upgrade my rig by q2 2011. so would like my ups to support that as well.

should i go for online or offline UPS??
 
You are using 600 watts power supply so atleast a 1000VA UPS is required to run your system properly. Go for a UPS with 8-10 minutes backup as power cut is for 1-2 minutes only. If there is too many voltage fluctuations and power cuts then go for online UPS. If there is only usual 1-2 minutes power cuts without voltage fluctuation then an offline UPS will do the job.
And please share your upgrade plans right now to clarify power usage by that upgraded system.

The UPS you selected on APC website seems very costly. BTW what is your budget?

thanks for replying...... can u also suggest a brand and model........

my upgrade plans will be roughly as follows: (will be upgrading the rig by q2 2011)

Proccy : corei7 950 or equivalent (in price)

Graphics : 5850 or nvidia 460 or equivalent at that time (in price)

SMPS : 750watts

budget for UPS is around 4-5k max.......
 
any decent 1KVa should work for your config. I just bought a Powercom 1000VA for a basic Phenon II X2+2 hdds +1 ODD + 9800gt 1Gb low power config and it gives almost 15mins back up fully charged
 
^how much did it cost you........?? is it online or offline???

is it pure sinwave or simulated sin wave........???

i have read that simulated ones are not compatible some PSUs.....i am concerned as i will be upgrading my rig soon........so the ups should be compatible with the newer PSU too....
