GIGABYTE GA-78LMT-S2P-2.5k or ASUS M5A78L-M LE-2.7k

Corsair Xms3 2X2gb 1333mhz-1.4k or Gskill ripjaws 2X2gb 1333mhz-1.5k

Sapphire HD5670 512mb ddr5-4k

Getting a new ram and gpu will boost your performance in gaming and in computing.

Hope this helps.

Which Phenom processor do you have??

GIGABYTE GA-78LMT-S2P has max hyper transport bus of 4400MT/s.. Avoid it....

Get the Asus Mobo suggested above and get only one 4gb stick of ddr3 1333mhz ram instead of 2x2, coz wont you be able to upgrade to 8gb as those low end mobos have only 2 ram slots.

Gfx - Sapphire 5670 as suggested above

.

i was now told that its not Phenom X-II its Phenom 9550 X4 which has a AM2+ cpu socket .

so AM3cpu can work on AM2+ Mobo but, AM2+ CPU wont work on AM3 mobo,am i right ?

Yeah that was my first question

Anyways for your info, the pin layout was changed from AM2+ to AM3....AM2+ processors supported DDR2 only and AM3 supported both DDR2 and DDR3.... As you said AM3 cpu is backwards compatible with AM2+ mobo by changing BIOS...

With Phenom I you can not opt for DDR3 and AM3 board .

There are only 2 viable options for you -

1. Get a Am2+ socket board with DDR2 slots.

2. Sold Phenom I and get either Phenom II or FX series CPU.

I'd suggest selling your cpu+ram here or on ebay and getting an Intel rig instead.

In case you want to keep your current set-up, you'll just have to go to a computer shop and buy any available AM2+ motherboard ...if they're still in stock. Don't think you'll have too many options to choose from, so googling doesn't make sense.

Or buy a second hand motherboard.

Unless you are on a very tight budget, would suggest to sell off the RAM and the CPU. Expect around 1.5~2K for the CPU, around 1K for the RAM, if both are in warranty.

Get a Intel Sandy Bridge Core i3/Pentium G620 + H61 based rig. it should come to around 8K for the G620+H61+4GB RAM. If i3, it will come to 10/11K in all.
