Hi, help me decide which SSD to buy from US. ( some one carrying it so duty is not an issue. AFAIK, wd, samsung and crucial give international warranty, so not an issue either) This will be secondary ssd, for storage purposes. Main ssd is gigabyte gen 4 2tb nvme

My ideal budget is around 10k for a 2tb

Is SSD even recommended for storing data? Don't they have a lesser life span than a HDD?
Also should the SATA be considered if you can get NVMe for around the same price?

WD Blue works amazing if you want a budget option. You should check for an international warranty with them. Although SSDs hardly go bad.

Go with this https://www.newegg.com/western-digital-2tb-blue-sn570-nvme/p/N82E16820250213 as I am using it and its giving the below benchmarks.
BTW I am using 1TB version.

yes, if Nvme SN 750 is within budget it's the best option.
if budget doesn't allows than SN 550 / 570 isn't a bad choice for storage use.
buy only NVME if you've m.2 slot available.

I would prefer samsung over western digital as my experience was not good with WD, also i an using Samsung 860 pro from past 6 years with no issues so far so go for samsung ssd.

SN750 or SSD 980. Both are very very good. If you can buy these, no point in consider WD Blue or 2.5" SSDs.

Check the review I linked, it has SN750 vs SN570 in benchmarks.
checked the review, still I'll go with SN570. I agree, SN 750 is slightly better in some benchmarks and yes it's sustained performance is much better than SN 570.
These benchmarks are for 1 TB version, 2TB will perform even better.

If I am not mistaken this SSD 980 is Samsung's non pro version (DRAM less) ?. I'd used 1TB version of both these SSD's. As per my experience, irrespective of benchmarks Samsung 980 performs marginally better in daily usage scenario.

Normally whenever I want to buy a SSD i refer to newmax's spreadsheet from reddit, great for reference and comparisons, has all the details and some recommendations as well.
