Everything that you see here has been done by me with the exception of Welding.
will keep on improving it lookwise as i progress further but looks great for now.

those who are active in IndianGaming Subreddit has probably seen it already and yes the plastic is only to protect it from dust and dirt.

For Mechanical - Fabricated some parts with CNC, 3D Printer and Scrap from Old Maruti.
For Electrical - Arduino

Figuring out how to make things move mechanically was sure the toughest part.

yea the first picture where it looks all neat and stuff had all the parts from a tata nano and the second one is a mix between nano and dzire.

Man, it looks crazy! If I am not mistaken, it's Nano's parts right? It has never looked so nice! Must have taken some great level of planning. Please explain how did you end up connecting the physical gear and handbrakes with the computer. And does the AC vents actually work too?

yea there's some DC motors inside each fan to mimic the fan of a car, had to take the vent out when I was transporting the dashboard.

I'm wondering why you did not use bigger screens for a more immersive effect.

Everything else is life size it's just the viewport I think is undersized. They should have been at least twice as tall ideally

Or was this the max size you could fit in there according to scale. Maybe you had budget limitations

First issue was that the instrument cluster panel of the Nano dashboard cannot fit 3*32” in vertically so the next option was 27” inch off branded LED and the other part is that I’m making these to sell now so budget has become an issue as well.

It’s an actual car gear part and some 3D printed gears connected to handbrake. Nothing fancy.

I can send the pic but that will require me to take the centre console off (which is tightened by screws now).

If possible, do share the photos of the internals. I am really interested to know how did you end up connecting a real handbrake with Arduino. Tweet the final rig photos to Guenter Butschek & Girish Wagh too!

That's precisely what I've been wondering looking at all the high end sim gear: why can't they just use solid IRL car parts and save money. I'm sure real hydraulic brake systems are cheaper here than the sim ones. And almost all throttle pedals are drive-by-wire and a fraction of the price!

Regarding display height, most people running triple screen will only be seeing through a narrow part, with the rest showing virtual dash and sun blocking sticker on the windshield. So with a real dash in front of you, the narrow vertical view will feel realistic. Eg:

One thing I've learnt about screens. Bigger is always better. However, in this particular case, there might be a reason to use a smaller screen.

Bigger screens exaggerate motion to the point it can be disorienting as a larger part of your view is changing. This may or may not apply to some people. Especially if things are moving fast and continuing to do so as would happen with a race. A smaller screen would reduce that effect.

He should post a photo with the screens on with the same point of view as above

Think its more because how much knowledge and DIY it takes to make something like this by yourself. Also you will be working with the limitations of the design and functionality car parts manufacturer has used whereas a custom sim focused parts will give you a much better feedback and experience tailored towards racing sim.
