My father was using Samsung-C140I very basic phone & its spk got some problem .. So I decided to change. Actually he may not use 3g,Wi-Fi, GPS & apps so searched simple basic phone. While searching.. I found HuaweiU5510 - Specs got amazed about features & pricing ...Searched A bit abt Huawei found company is big one, trustworthy &Many of its product r not re-branding. Company is actually designer & developer of many product.. Also my city has 2 Huawei Service Centers& one is Black Berry service center So Instantly Jumped into this gamble & ordered... Received in 2 days from adexmart ...



How to start review ..? OK we will move by GSM Arena Specifications & then by phone menu items...

Phone has 650 Mhz processor & 512 MB RAM and no android )For Speed ) so it is lighting fast boots in 2 sec 2 sec to load all N/W / SMS / PB all.

Display & Size :

• 2.4 inches (167 ppi) Very nice display. Soft made some tweaks so @ first it does not look like 167 ppi.
• Size is normal comfortable nothing amazing
• Less Colors (May notice some times)

Look & Feel :

Smooth & Speed !! will notice very fast phone. (Except Audio Player library search)
Number says its only 90g but feels L'il heavy.

Good Use Themes, Animation, transparency in menu & default soft.. (You never feel its so called "China OS")
Soft has some tweaks like transparency if you switch to second theme :thumbsup: you feels very smooth interface.

You have to open Phone Suite > Settings >& then select proper com port ...

i was looking for a basic phone with WIFI hotspot and PC suite support. got u5510 from flipkart for 3050 but with no 4GB card, since i already have a micro sd card card so was not bothered much. build of the phone is above average and for 3000 this is well acceptable. have not used camera so cannot comment on that, but WIFI hotspot works without flaw, sometimes it disconnets and reconnects dont know the exact reason but i have no issues with it. since it supports 3.5G i get good speeds at times close to 3mbps download, but it fluctualtes depending on location and load. PC suite is a basic one and i cannot read the messages in suite, i can send messages from pc suite though but the sent messages are not saved on phone, need to figure out why. i can read and edit the contacts but have not tried other things with contacts. dont know why huawei has limited this phone only to india, it will sell like hot cake if they make it availiable at other geographic locations.
overall from usage for close to a month i would give
9/10 for WIFI hotspot -- wifi is a battery hogger sometimes phone goes dead if i leave wifi on for long time
6/10 for PC suite -- the suite proveed in the site does not have the drivers, which i had to get from another user in post.
9/10 for other features

i would recommend this for anyone looking for a cheap wifi hotspot phone.

I always use its sound rec function to rec call & voice.. , no voip support because this is java phone.

i have been contemplating purchasing this phone since sometime. am not a very cellphone-savvy person and have a very limited knowledge about these. i need a dual sim phone, with good net capabilities, and was dead-set to buy this, when y'day came upon a feedback on it on GSMarena, which read like - "the keypad is flat and its a pain to type on this; camera is horrible, dual sim support is buggy, etc., etc."

could either you or pls tell me how does this fare against cellphones like nokia 114 (in which , 206, micromax X320? it would be a lot of help. i need a good keypad, net-capabilities for using gtalk, a few sites, etc., a decent cam, good dual sim support, etc.
