One of the reason why AMD is not mass producing Radeon HD 4700 (RV740) series now is because HD 5700 series will be replacing it soon and will come one month after HD 5800 series. It will meet head on against the NVIDIA's D10P1 (GT215) series in October so expect a full fledge war then. With a performance target of 1.6x over the HD 4770 and 1.2x over the HD 4750, they are surely packed with enough power to pit against the NVIDIA's lineup. Pair them up and you will get a boost of 1.8x which is roughly the performance of a Cypress card

Juniper XT is Radeon HD 5770 and Juniper LE is HD 5750 by VR-Zone for Gadget & PC Enthusiasts

It is supposed to launch in October time and it should be priced at under $200. Performance should be a bit lower than HD4890, probably a bit lower than the HD4870, but overall it should be a quite powerful card.

The card looks too expensive to us, as you can buy an HD 4870 for just $135 and HD 4890 for about $200 and ATI will have to work hard to convince people that DirectX 11 is so important that you have to upgrade today and not in 2010.

Fudzilla - HD5770 comes in October

really lookin forward for this card

I bet on my life(not wife :p) that this card will be more powerful than HD4890 anyday..

Here is the expected specifications:

960 SPs

256-bit GDDR5

512MB/1GB

1GHz(4GHz QDR) or lesser

ROPs and Texture Units proportionately increased from HD4800 series level.

With all the Duties & Taxes added + greedy dealers, rest assured the pricing will suck atleast for a few months from thier launch in India.

Mate,

It has 128 bit GDDR5 not 256.

Suggested Radeon HD 5770 and HD 5750 System Requirements

We told you about Juniper cards earlier and now let's check out their system requirements. Looks pretty similiar to Radeon HD 4770 except you need at least a 600W for Crossfire.

* PCI Express® based PC is required with one X16 lane graphics slot available on the motherboard

* 450 Watt or greater power supply with one 75W 6-pin PCI Express® power connectors recommended (600 Watt and two 6-pin connectors for ATI CrossFireX™ technology in dual mode)

* Certified power supplies are recommended. Refer to Certified Power Supplies for a list of Certified products

* Minimum 1GB of system memory

* Installation software requires CD-ROM drive

* DVD playback requires DVD drive

* Blu-rayâ„¢ playback requires Blu-ray drive

* For an ATI CrossFireXâ„¢ system, a second ATI Radeonâ„¢ HD 5770/5750 graphics card, an ATI CrossFireX Ready motherboard and one ATI CrossFireX Bridge Interconnect cable per graphics card (included) are required

Another bit of information, both cards are double slots and HD 5770 is 8-layer and HD 5750 is 6-layer. Pricing ranges from US$149-199. Also, there is another cheaper Juniper board on the horizon.

Earlier talked about as being a mere speed bump over RV740 that probably locks horns with Radeon HD 4850 or even HD 4870 512 MB in terms of performance in today's applications, Juniper, codename for AMD's newer mainstream GPU that is looking to handle things under the $200 segment, is looking stronger than thought about before on paper, according to recent publication by Anandtech.

Breaking away from the previous conception of a GPU with 800 stream processors, a 128-bit GDDR5 memory, and most other vital-stats resembling its ancestor, the report suggests something that's at least 75% as powerful as Cypress.

It is said to feature 14 SIMD blocks, which going by Cypress' architecture would imply 1120 stream processors (14 x 80 SPs). The report also hints at a stronger memory sub-system to keep up. Instead of a 128-bit wide interface, it hints at 192-bit, GDDR5 at that. This part doesn't seem convincing, as earlier pictures of the card showed it to be holding four memory chips on the reverse side of the PCB, with no fuses to show memory chips that aren't sharing memory channels. Accelerators with 192-bit wide memory interface, should have 6 or 12 memory chips typically. Other numbers include 56 texture memory units (TMUs), and 24 raster operation units (ROPs), if there is a 192-bit memory interface.

ATI HD 5700 series is expected to launch around the Windows 7 release time-frame, i.e. October 22nd/23rd, though some rumours call for an earlier release date - around October 10th and target sub-$200 price points. This means that the HD 5700 series will end up faster than the 4800 series after all, in the same price bracket. The 5750 is rumoured to be priced at $149, replacing the 4870, with the 5770 at $199, replacing the 4890.Both 5700 products are expected to run cool and be very power efficient, and retain all feature benefits of the HD 5800 series.

Following the HD 5700 cards closely will be the dual-Cypress monster Hemlock (5800 X2) in late-October/early-November.

5800 is out on lynx......but the pricing......oops....25k for 5870 and 17k for 5850.....

so i think 5770n 5750 will be available around oct15...............and am waiting for it...but worried about the pricing.....if its over 10k....then it will remain as only a dream for me.....

yeah overpricing will lead to lesser sales, im waiting for the 5770 myself, but i'll buy it perhaps in may 2010, and that's a century away ^ (am expecting it for about 120-130$ in may)
