I already own a Canon Multifunction MP-145 printer but the cartridges are very expensive.

Now Im looking for a cheaper solution(1-5k). Prefered brand is HP.

The printer should be using cheapest cartridges while the printer price in the first should not be too high.

I've heard of e-printing/cloud printing. With this is there a need for a multifunction or just an inkjet would do?

Also should I go in for an entry level laser printer instead of an inkjet?

If you're printing B&W prints only, then a laser would work out cheaper. Among the Inkjets there are HP's Ink advantage printers which use much cheaper cartridges.

So for color prints, Laser is not good, why? Sorry noobie!

Will check out the HP ink-adv. range.

Some people say there's no need to buy a MF Printer because one can click photos on mobile of documents, etc. & get a print out through printer. If this works, should I be looking towards solo printers?

You won't get a colour laser printer in your budget. Prices start at about 13k for colour laser printers.

Even if clicking photos doesn't work, its better to get a separate printer/scanner. An MF makes sense only if you're short of desk space.

lol! & I was getting confused for nothing.
So now its between Laser B&W & Inkjet with cheap cartridges.

Hope Laser ink filling is cheap.

Laser will give me advantage of fast printing. Any big dis-advantages?
