hey guys,
i need to build a decent rig and my budget is 15k.....i already have a 15" LCD,DVD-RW and a 80GB HDD.But i need more storage.

Am thinking of using E4500 2.2Ghz Intel processor and DP35DM Intel's media series mobo......am I utilizing my money well?????Plz help me out......Thanks

the budget is pritty stringent .....

CPU: core 2 duo 4400----->4300

MOBO: gigabyte GA 945GM s2----->3000

GPU: XFX 8600gt---->6300

RAM: 2*1gb 667mhz----->800*2

HDD: WD 160gb 7200rpm ----->1600

PSU: VIP silver 400w----->1200

....total----->18000

^^8600gt for 6300??
u can opt for
e2140 2.3k
biostar tf 7050 m7 3k
2gb ram ddr800 2k
250gb hdd sata2 2.8k
smps black diamond 500w 2.5k(not sure abt tht)
kbd mouse 1k

many thingy r not needed.....

.....lik 800mhz in RAM wud not do justice coz d proxy(dual core) is too pathetic...so plz plz go 4 core2duo.....at least 4400....u can over clock it to god lik limits....if not into over clocking still it runs at a decent speed..

....500w of psu....bro luk at moi rig its dat kinda rig which requires 500w....a mere 400w wud b enough....

GPU: XFX 8600gt---->6300

Incorret got a XFX 8600GT for Rs4650 from Mahalaxmi computers (lammy) ...though i did save about 100 bucks on bargaining...i guess now the prices should have fallen to 4.6k

so that reduces the budget freestyler's proposed budget by 1.7k

if u want to till reduce your budget you can try the el-cheapo Palit mobo for about 2.2k

And you can always stick to onboard graphics and skip the 8600GT ....would help with other components......do consider this if u're not into games.

If you are not into games then I would recommend you to go for an AMD

AMD 4800+ and Asus M2A-VM Rs7,200......the best onboard gfx and within budget.

@abhishekas see d post:p
i knw 86gt aint for 6300:D

8600 cost me 6500 in August 2007. I'm sure the prices have dropped now. Also if the system is going to be used for music/videos and not gaming, an onboard GPU is sufficient.

Also since you are using a 15" lcd which has a max resolution of 1024*768 a card like the 8600GT is more than enough for gaming.

y r u guys so totally against him gettin a graphic card....its 86gt is mere 5k now as written above.....file can b hell wit out it des days.

but don't u think he'll have to invest in after market coolers ??
although the E4400 is not a bad choice it can OC well.....
also pick up 667 mhz rams as far as gfx card is concerned pick up a good used card instead of new one u'll save more on that, i think 8600gt must up for sales or even the 7800/7950 cards try picking one of them.
go for a biostar motherboard its really stable since im using one only sad part is that the PCB is thin. the rest is awsome a good OCer also.
tight budget u have soo a Seventeam 450W is enuf prime can hook you up with it.

thx guys......i don think i'll need a graphic card....beeter go for onboard graphics.....which one do u suggest???Biostar or AMD or Gigabyte?coz they r beeter than intel......are gigabyte boards reliable???.....am gonna go for E4400.
