10. Q: Any other requirements?
A: Don't require dual sim/require dual sim/etc.

11. Q: If you have already considered a phone then please mention the model.
A: Already considering Galaxy Y and LG Optimus net. But confused about the market move. As am strictly based on budget am confused whether Optmus net will get reduced because already LG has launched Optimus net dual sim for 10600(just 700 rs extra than that of Optimus net). This doubt arised because of latest price slash of Galaxy R upto 7000 INR by samsung.

Also am worrying about the low resolution of Galaxy Y.

So pls suggest among the two(Galaxy Y OR Optimus netP960) which will be better choice for VALUE FOR MONEY.

The Optimus Net is better VFM.

Reasons:

  • It has a much better GPU than the Y
  • It has almost double the RAM as Y (512MB vs 290MB)
  • It has much better HVGA 3.2" screen compared to QVGA 3" of Y
  • Much bigger 1500mAh battery compared to 1200mAh of Y
  • Better 3.2MP AF camera compared to Y's 2MP FF

^^ The model of the GPU listed in gsmarena is the same for both. Is the LG one overclocked? Also, what about the GPU in MSM7227A SoC's (HTC Pico). If you could elaborate on the differences betwen the three(7227,7227T and 7227A), i think it will benefit a lot of potential buyers here.

The Fit has QVGA at 3.3 inches which makes it one of worse displays in terms of ppi. Having recently handled the Galaxy Y with its 3 inch QVGA display, I could see individual pixels clearly and that was not a good sight to see. The Optimus Net is better than the Galaxy Y/Fit in every aspect.

  • The MSM7227A is a cortex A5 core which supports ARM v7 instruction set.(Flash support) Its also a 45nm fab compared to the 65nm fab of the other two (7227 and 7227T) The 7227 and 7227T also lacks flash support.
  • The MSM7227A contains a enhanced Adreno 200 (higher clock speed?) that beats the one in the Wildfire S (7227+Adreno 200) comfortably.
  • The 7277 and 7227T are identical except clock speeds. The 7227 is usually clocked @ 600MHz and the 7277T @ 800MHz

HTC Explorer review: The start of a journey - GSMArena.com

Check the comparison between the Explorer (7227A+Enhanced Adreno 200) and Wildfire S (7227+ Adreno 200) The former is much better in everything!

OTOH the Galaxy Y doesnt have the Qualcomm processor. It just has some ARMv6 processor clocked @ 830MHz.(Samsung in-house?) But its GPU is much weaker than even the regular Adreno 200 (I think its videocore one though there is no mention in GSMArena)

Samsung Galaxy Y S5360 - Full phone specifications

The HTC explorer can be bought for ~10k from ebay using some coupons or from Indiaplaza using ICICI coupon. It has the best CPU+GPU in the ~10k region.

It is a Broadcom Soc :

Features are:

>7.2 Mbps 3G support

>The videocore Gpu supports Open Gl 2.0 which is great because many low end Soc's omit this

>Performance wise the processor is slight slower then MSM7727, While the Graphics are as good as Adreno 200: Linpack scores are actually higher for videocore though the Real world performance is yet to be seen/reported

>65 nm fab same as 7227

So does it mean Htc explorer is the best phone for under 11k if used in stock ?
