Not quite, a 3950x either matches or beats the 7980xe in nearly every benchmark: https://www.anandtech.com/bench/product/2558?vs=2128

And it's likely the 7980xe would be out of warranty by now. So a used 3950x + motherboard for 50k is a far better option.

5000 series is in a class of its own, here's the eight core 5800x almost keeping up with the sixteen core 3950x: https://www.anandtech.com/bench/product/2675?vs=2666

X299/X399 exists today only for the expanded memory and storage options. For everything else, it's been superseded by newer and better platforms.

How much should this combo to be priced at?
Processor - FX-8350
Motherboard - AsRock 970 Extreme 4
Ram - Corsair Vengeance 8X2 gb (should be 2400 mhz)

All of the above was brought in 2014
