New Office Rig @ 30-35k

I am planning to get a new office computer.. Since iam not a expert in this area, i thought of asking here.. My budget is 35-40k.. This excludes HDD as i already have 1... Please help me in deciding up with the config..

how abt this?

AMD Quad X4 - 955 BE 5600
Asus M4A88TD M EVO 6200 / GIGABYTE MA880GM-USB3 5400
Corsair 4GB DDRIII 1950
DELL LED 21.5" -ST2220M 8200 / Benq G2220HD 7400
Corsair VX 450 3400
Samsung 22X SATA DVD 925
CM Elite 310 1650
Logitech MMKB+Optical 675

This comes upto 28.6k..

How is intel i3 when compared to 955be?? which1 is better? (AMD VS Intel SANDY BRIDGE CPU) I will be using this computer for atleast 8-10 years.. Ya i mean it We still use 2 P3 computers and 1 P2 computer in our office.. So i want it to be future proofing.. Since the comp is not for gaming or HD video watching, i preferred not to get an graphics card.. Is it a good idea or should i go for an better mobo?? is the onboard gfx are good enough of handling 22"display and better processing for office purpose??

Purpose : MS office, Excel with complicated macros.. Internet, little photoshop/image editing and other office related works..

Budget : 30-35k

Please help me up in finalising a rig for my office... I will be getting it by this week end..

Going with an SB based rig would be a right thing coz Ivybridge processors would be backward compatible... I know that even after 10 years LGA1155 motherboards won't be able to support future CPUs but its always good to buy whats best at present... And Sandybridge is "THE" thing right now...

i5 2500 outperforms all AMD Phenom processors and also consumes way less power...

Thx for the suggestion brother... As suggested, i will go for intel i5... Is the mobo good enough for my purpose??? is it good enough of handling 22"display and better processing for office purpose??

And thx once more..

Is the mobo good enough for my purpose??? is it good enough of handling 22"display and better processing for office purpose??

Its great... The i5 2500's ondie GPU is even good enough for handling HD movies... So dont worry... And H67MA-E35 is the best VFM motherboard at the moment which has some futureproof features like USB3 + Sata3 :)

Thx once again for the provided information brother.. So here goes the config..

Intel Core i5 2500 10275
H67MA-E35 (B3) 5500
Corsair 1333MHz CL9 4GB 1950
Corsair CX400 2600
NZXT Gamma / CM Elite 310 2100 / 1650
BenQ G2220HD / DELL LED ST2220M 7400 / 8200
Samsung 22X SATA DVD 925
Logitech MMKB+Optical 675
Total 31425 / 31775

Now please help me selecting between NZXT Gamma / CM Elite 310 and BenQ G2220HD / DELL LED ST2220M

**Prices from delta.. Will probably be getting from them..

Now please help me selecting between NZXT Gamma / CM Elite 310 and BenQ G2220HD / DELL LED ST2220M

NZXT Gamma is better than CM Elite 310... It has better cable management + better build quality + better airflow... And i would advice you to buy BenQ G2220HD over ST2220M...

@DA

Dont you think the extra 200MHz bump would help him in the long run as the processor he is buying is not overclockable... I know the price difference between 2400 and 2500 is a bit more then it should have been but still... Extra 200MHz (+ 400MHz in turbo mode as compared to i5 2400 300MHz) bump for 1k is not bad IMO...

In today's scenario does it matter if a P4 runs @ 2.4Ghz or 2.6Ghz? Now that is a 6-7 old H/W. I guess the SB speeds might have the same relevance few years down the line.

^^ My old P4 3.00GHz rig runs faster than my friends old 2.6GHz rig which is not even able to handle those softwares which runs easily on my p4 rig... So i think yes the extra 200MHz would be beneficial in the long run...

Thx for the help & suggestion Hades and DarkAngel.. Will decide between i5 2500/2400 by budget constrain at time of purchase.. Also, can some1 tell me where can i get NZXT Gamma in chennai?? I dont live i chennai but vil be travelling to chennai this week end.. I generally get computer components from delta and i dont think they would have it..

Thx for the info bro.. Will contact CHALLENGER COMPUTER also.. btw, you know where exactly they are??? in ritchie street??

Also i mailed delta for prices.. Here is their quotation :

intel Core i5 2500 @10275
MSI H67MA-E35 (B3) @4800
Corsair 1333MHz 4GB @ 1950
Corsair CX430@2350
coolermaster case 430 @2550
BenQ G2220HD@7150/-
Samsung 22X SATA DVD@925
Logitech MMKB+Optical mouse @675

They say Corsair CX400 is obsolete and don't have NZXT products :(..

CX400 is better than CX430 as it comes with 3years warranty as compared to 2years warranty of CX430 and its rated 80+ at 50c as compared to CX430 which is rated 80+ @25c plus CX430 has higher failure rate... so if you cant find CX400 in your city then increase your budget and buy Corsair VX450 ~ 3.5k... or else buy CX400 online from theitwares...

Ok.. Here it goes finally.. Got the PC y'day.. Special thx to Hades and DarkAngel for their suggestions..

Spec :
Intel Core i5 2500
MSI H67MA-E35 (B3)
Corsair 1333MHz CL9 4GB
Fsp saga II 500w
NZXT Gamma
BenQ G2220HD
Logitech MMKB+Optical

Total Damage - 29.3k

Couldn't find CX400 and VX450 anywhere in ritchie street.. They are trying to push CX430.. So bought Fsp saga II 500w.. how good it is compared to CX430?? Also i did't buy DVD drive.. Thought of buying it online.. Any suggestion??

Also, the guy in delta himself fitted cpu to mobo by the time i pay for the bill.. They say its a regular process tat they check it b4 giving .. dono if he has fitted it good.. The lower and higher temperature of cpu is 38 and 44.. Is it good??

Got an issue now.. At the system startup i get 2 short beep 1 normal beep when connected to VGA port and 3-4 short beep and 1 normal beep when connected to DVI port.. But every thing is running fine after that.. Is there something to be worried here?? When i googled about it, many with this mobo had this problem... during the beep, i get 99, A4 on the bottom right corner..

Are you sure that they gave you a new mobo and proccy? And did the delta guy open the seal of proccy and mobo in front of you?

^^ The FSP Saga II 500W was a good call on your part it has better reliability than the CX 430W -- even though the CX 430W V2 is said to have better performance than its predecessor as well I don't know how to differentiate between V1 and V2 so it is a bit point-less. From this review it looks boxing has been changed obviously -- ]Corsair CX430 V2 430W Review

I reseated the ram this morning.. Still have the beeping issue.. There are 4 usb plugged in.. When i remove all 4, i get 2 short beep(fast) and 1 normal beep.. When all 4 is connected, i get 4-5 short beep(fast) and 1 normal beep.. i get same 99, A3 error message.. But 2day i once had BSOD..

Below are the most common status codes that are seen in lower right corner

98 - Console input devices connect

99 - Super IO Initialization

A3 - IDE Enable

A4 - SCSI initialization is started

B4 - USB hot plug

Any help??

Update:

@ MSI community they say : Nothing to be concerned about as long as it passes BIOS checks & boots in to Windows. And the beep is b'coz of USB attached to computer..
