Yes, 256GB one is a great choice. Don't have high expectations from camera, especially the ultrawide. Primary rear cam & selfie cam are good even though not the best. Higher battery capacity + 8 Gen 2 makes for a great combination.

S23 has been going for 55k for 128GB model & 60k for 256GB. If you are willing to wait a few months (there's a sale in May usually, else in Oct sale I expect it to be under 40k), this will be a better choice. Cons of S23 vs OP 12R will be slower charging, lower battery life & smaller size. Pros of S23 - Smaller size (this is kind of personal preference), lighter in weight, better UI, better camera package with good ultrawide & telephoto. Both of them will get updates till Android 17.

Wish One Plus 12R offers the same Camera Configuration of Realme 12 Pro + 5G.
No, it won't. At least not at the same price as 12R. Both of them are owned by BBK along with oppo, vivo & iQoo. They will try to make different phones to cater to different audiences, like iQoo seems more performance oriented, OP for premium flagship killer exp, Realme seems to make something & oppo & vivo are anyways targetted towards brick & mortar stores, so poor value compared to other 3, like always.

another addition
iQOO neo 9 pro = Sony 50 MP IMX920
vs
12R = Sony 50 MP IMX890 Camera System

still no 512GB or 1TB storage

I can wait for this too.
or should I prebook (for discounts)
or buy 12r
or wait for more reviews after 22 feb

Waiting for reviews is always the smart move. But I expect it close to 50k, maybe 46-47k at best as D9300 outperforms 8 Gen 3 consistently for CPU & trades blow for GPU benchmarks.

D9300 phones have come out? I am more interested in their battery backup/efficiency, these days chips have advanced enough that further perf improvements are not noticeable in general day to day usage

+1

I think among top flagship SoCs, 8 Gen 2 is the most efficient one.

This is a good matchup, similar display, similar battery size, similarly heavy OS:
