hello friends,

i am planning to buy PC -- use would be programming + home entertainment+some gaming like FPS,arcade (NFS etc...)

budget for the machine is like 35K - 40K

processor = 11K - 14k

mobo = 5k -7k

cabinet = 3.5k - 4.5k

HDD 1TB

2.1 or 5.1 speakers (creative or altec lansing)

LCD or LED monitor

RAM 4 or 8GB

please suggest some powerful excellent configuration not necessarily intel ... i like AMD too....

If you ask me why did I choose E-Bay , answer is that it always has expensive items most of the times and you can get the same

for less price at local shops .

So ebay listings are worst case scenarios

But if he decides to oc his CPU , he won't be able to do so with your mentioned CPUs (they don't require oc'ing though

So I suggested him "k" series proccy if he upgrades his mobo (p67 or z68) down the line .

Also we can't comment anything further ; as OP hasn't mentioned his needs in detail (i.e he oc's or not , gaming needs , resolution etc)

If he oc's then he can go for "k" series , if not , your mentioned rig is a way to go !

Considering op mentioned 5k for mobo he obviously doesn't have budget for ocing rig which requires 12-14k mobo,hence i've suggested non 'K' series proccy.

hi jakob,

i have one confusion can u help me in tht ...

as u have suggested mobo DH67BL which can support memory types ddr3 -1333mhz (as per ark.intel website)..... then ram been advised as 1600mhz ddr3....

will this not degrade the performance tht shud be delivered .... can u please clarify on this...

#deadskin Do not worry about using 1600 RAM, just set the memory clocks after booting to 1600 from 1333 (default) in the BIOS.

Also, dunno about IT depot, but have a look at Delta. http://deltapage.com/list/index.html

Finally, unless you need a machine now, wait for Ivy Bridge [May/June]. Though its not too much better than the current Sandy Bridge, just a teeny bit better.

Again only if you are going for the top of the line guys, thank god they are giving AMD a chance to earn some revenue through Llano and other low-end cards.

Honestly for such a budget and onboard graphics, you might be better off with llano since their onboard gpu is far superior. And then you can save on the CPU and go for a better board as well. It will be a much much slower CPU but far better gpu

been to waltax road chennai ... and got variations in the prices from a few shops....

can anyone please suggest which shop to go for in chennai...

I have visited sethia,oasis,suntek,mahavir etc etc,,,,

suntek gave nice prices compared to other outlets....

can any one help me to go for which shop???? am new in chennai...
