Need Some Help On Java (Jdk1.2)

I try to install JDK 1.2 on my machine but it shows an error as u can see on the image

I have win xp with sp2 it says i dont have autoexec.bat when i try to create it a similar error as on the image appears
Plz help me I need to install java coz I doin a java course

Try to downlaod the latest version of JDK and see if u face the same prob.
but its very big like 60-100MB

also search some latest chip or digit cd it has JDK latest.

Note:- There might be a solution to ur prob but give the new version a try.
what if it works.
 
Yeah, it is due to the old version... it must be a windows 98 pack, and it is trying to set the path in autoexec.bat rather than in the environment variables (as shud be done in XP). Try looking at a Chip CD, shud be there.
